The Annular Solar eclipse in Taurus occurs on 29th April 2014 at approximately 8 degrees Taurus. This eclipse heightens the urgency of the cardinal grand cross that’s changing us individually and collectively. Eclipses bring already emergent changes stronger into our consciousness, sometimes with a sense of urgency. They are opportunities for soul growth, which might or might not be aligned with ego desires.
This solar eclipse is the second of the month, both of which add to the overall acceleration of the now exact grand cross. There’s a quickening of events, and for some much awaited change might surface as crisis. The sense is, ‘I just can’t continue like this… or… I really need to sort this out now’.
The nature of eclipses and the grand cross configuration function to accentuate where you are at the moment. Those who have been responding more consciously over the last two years to these energies might now be entering into a time of consolidation and realisation of dreams. This is a time to see where you are and where you want to be.
We are officially in Taurus season and I’m in Warsaw Poland working on processing vast global issues that inevitably touch upon deeply personal themes. This is the perfect place for me to be right now, in a mecca where I can explore personal and global consciousness and watch how it transforms.
It’s a large group, there are 500 plus of us, working with a paradigm called Process Work (Process Oriented Psychology), with Deep Democracy. Deep Democracy is the next level up from democracy. It requires us to need awareness of all the parts, issues and dimensions of our interaction for sustainable change to anchor in ourselves, on a very personal level, and the world at large. Without noticing the deeper levels of our existence in our world – the deeper being that of community, our stories, myths and rituals – then we fail to really address what it means to make change sustainable. This is a practical solution to changing the world – a strong Taurus theme.
Worldwork helps transform global issues by sifting, filtering and bringing awareness to how we are all dreaming the past, present and historical reality that we live in. Nothing is outside of our making, and although in practise this is an incredibly complex idea, in theory, it’s very simple. Process Work offers a way of translating theory into practise – of reaching an understanding that what we hate, fear or feel most disturbed by, is also a part of us and our creation.
To begin, Mercury, the planet of communication, is in Taurus and super close to the Sun at this new moon. This is interesting since here at Worldwork we have Polish translations for every word spoken; meaning language and interpretation is literally slowed right down. Thoughts, communication, both written and spoken, are best done with this slowness in mind at this time, otherwise things will escalate. Mercury in Taurus can really serve us at this time.
Mercury is also in aspect to the grand cross, so if you feel pushed to burst in with your words (which means in some way this grand cross is impacting you more directly), then you might get caught up in the cross fire of this grand square. Fine if you can keep your awareness, not so if you struggle with that.
Thing is, Taurus abhors superficiality, it’s body deep. Taurus at its best wants to be real, it can’t bear inauthenticity and likes concrete personal stuff that holds value and meaning. That means that any words, actions or choices need to be based on a certain degree of substantiality, or at least that which is tried and tested. The energy is slow, connected to a more body feeling realm and grounded in reality. Taurus will bring us back down to earth when we get drawn into the clouds, and certainly some people are likely to get lost in the clouds right now – the air element (thinking, theorising, analysing and not feeling).
Neptune additionally makes contact with this new moon, suggesting responses that are influenced more by emotion, instinct, sensitivity and intuition. The other end of the Neptune spectrum is victimhood, performance and a sense of extreme tragedy or grief. The higher expression of Neptune emphasises the dreaming world where the veil between consensus reality and dreaming reality is thin and fine – this could be useful if we want to contact with deeper understanding. Our individual awareness will dictate how we respond to this Neptunian influence.
Mars and Uranus make further challenging aspects to this new moon and mercury. This is less easy. We will be far more sensitive to placing or receiving accusations unfairly. We might also be more unwilling to accept blame and responsibility; looking at others as opponents rather than friends. Again, awareness is the key. If you have an ability to detach and observe, then do this rather than get pulled into a quagmire of misplaced blame than mars can instil.
Taurean energy suits engagement and participation. Nothing really changes in the world if we stay colluding with a denial of what needs applied work and right action. This eclipse in Taurus offers an opportunity to bring the world of dreams and reality, and additionally ground ourselves in real, tangible, palpable reality. It could be stark reality checks for some. It could be a real time of accomplishment for others. Either way it will get you where you need to be.
Taurus is disciplined and focused on intentions and creatively anchors future vision. Taurus gets things done – it has a spark of an idea and stays focus with it until it completes the task at hand. These are qualities accessible to us right now, through our choosing.
Of course, Taurus also rules the body. Stay with your slowness and your feelings – stay away from your assumptions and theories. Your deep body proprioception is supporting future growth at this time so feel your body, your skin, hug others, take off your shoes and feel the grass – it’s been a while. Feel into things. With Taurus’ ruler Venus you might also want to spread the love of the Goddess.
If we take the needed changes seriously right now then it will be delivered to us in real terms over the following six months. The strong and subtle pain signals in your life now are sending you a precise, clear message that something is not quite right. It’s saying take a closer look at what that message might be. If we refuse to take a look, then in time the pain which is only a function or messenger, might amplify. It knocks, then it bangs before it finally kicks the door in. Conscious tangible steps will get you from where you are to where you want to be – you just need to take them, it’s really very simple.
I repeat – the energetic dynamics are very exact and once in a lifetime energies. It’s equivalent to having a very powerful telescope through which we can see the far and grand truth, or a precise microscope that penetrates into the intricacies of our lives. Either way the macrocosm and microcosm are aligned – we just need to channel and direct this tool and make the changes necessary.
