The Gemini New Moon on 16th June 2015 at 2.08 pm provides us with a drive to transform ourselves from the restrictions and limitations placed on us by ourselves and the world at large. For many it could be a time of exhilarating realisations and for others a realisation of work still left to do – either way that’s ok.
Mars is tightly conjunct the Sun and Moon at this new moon and this energy dominates this coming lunar cycle. It’s important to own and channel what we are angry or passionate about this month constructively. Usually there’s a blurry line between the two, don’t let it fester in you, let it have its voice. This is particularly important since the Sun’s light in Gemini, the sign of communication, wants us to share what we’ve learnt.
With the secondly ruler of Mars being Scorpio, we are also talking about feelings and water. So while with the air of the Sun in Gemini we have a focus on awareness and perceptions and how we frame them alters our feeling experience. The watery side of Mars is intense feeling, passion and desire beneath the surface of that frustration or anger. Jupiter makes an easy flowing creative sextile to the Sun-Moon-Mars so there’s a potential to pick up and work with this energy if we choose. Jupiter brings potential which can be utilised when approached with a clear intention.
There could be things you are initiating at this new moon that have inspired you in ways that have also surprised you perhaps. Life has a funny way of being full of surprises, as soon as we think we know what we should be doing with our lives, life brings along the experience we need to further that into something more aligned with our higher self and less with our thinking self. The more open we can stay to changing paths and directions at this time, the happier we will be. Since the energy is wanting to take us deeply into what drives us from the inside out.
Mercury, the ruler of Gemini and this new moon is now going direct after its retrograde ended on 11th June. Mercury is now ready to help us move forward after his awkward square to Neptune over the last few weeks. This might have brought some uncertainty, and an inability to act on our intuitions and ideas, this is almost over. But with these changes we can now finally start implementing what we have been creatively thinking. Neptune has been helping us learn to let the Tao take more ownership of our lives, rather than a sense of needing everything the way we think it ought to be.
Mercury is also opposite Saturn which can bring a heaviness – a sense of struggle or enduring hardship, perhaps there’s also a reality check here that feels uncomfortable or forces us to look at things differently. It might not be the easiest of things to face but its better to believe that on a deeper level this challenge will yield rewards that can’t be even entertained yet. When energies feel heavy, irreconcilable or immovable, its best to try not to fix it but give it over to the Gods. If you are feeling this, its not going to evaporate quickly, as it’s a signature at this new moon, so we have a month to work through this, take it easy and stay open to miracles.
Saturn has now moved back into watery Scorpio, the other air-water connection at this Gemini New Moon. Saturn transited Scorpio from October 2012 to December 2014, and now returns until mid September 2015. This is a final clearing out of outmoded fear and deeper patterns that rule our emotional responses. It’s like the final transformational steps that we need to take so it should bring many who have been working on themselves a sense of accomplishment and completion. Take the time to consider who you need to forgive, what you need to face, and what doors need to now close.
Black Moon Lilith is opposite Chiron at this new moon, she is forcing us to face and deal with our deep feeling of adequacy or helplessness felt in a world that focuses almost exclusively on masculine values and ostracises the body and the feminine. There’s still much individual and collective healing around these themes, so many layers and levels not explored and we have to be prepared to go deeper into ourselves over the forthcoming months and years. We have to make things real on the physical and emotional level, get out of the realm of thinking and start communicating our experience in the here and now.
At some point I will translate my own passion felt with my own birth experience into a blog post… I learnt an awful lot that I need to share.
