This month’s New Moon in Gemini at 3.59 am BST on Sunday 5th June 2016 forms a key astrological event of 2016: a Grand Cross immutable signs with Saturn in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Virgo, Neptune in Pisces and the Sun, Venus and Moon in conjunction in Gemini.
This New Moon works with the slower moving planets Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune in this complex and powerful configuration to provide us with the turning points and an opportunity for reconciliation of the difficult energetic dynamics marking our lives currently. In other words, this New Moon Gemini energy, occupied by the Sun, Venus and the Moon, provides the beginning resolution for all the issues that this on going, slower, planetary T-square of Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune have been bringing up for us since March.
Gemini then requests us to stay open, curious and keep our perceptions flexible and opinions fluid, so we do not get pulled into the heavier lessons of Saturn in Sagittarius: the tendency to stay fixed with our beliefs, assumptions and inflexible or rigid in our point of view. Instead we are urged to connect with our own internal authority and truth, as an evolving truth, knowing that it is only our truth, not representative of anyone else’s and not fixed in stone.
This theme of connecting more internally with your own truth rather than something fixed and outside of us, continues into June with Venus approaching a significant part of her cycle with the Sun. On June 6th Venus forms what is known as a Superior Conjunction with the Sun, and is at her furthest reach away from the Earth.
Venus is about relating. Her distance perhaps means we need to learn to connect deeply with ourselves first before reaching out to connect with others. In fact, reaching in more deeply with ourselves first means then we can come into more authentic relationship with others.
With Venus in Gemini and conjunct this New Moon, how we relate and bring energy to our relationships is right on the mark. But Gemini Venus is like a chameleon, or a social butterfly, she flutters about her network of connections, with an attitude of curiosity and lightness. She sees things from different perspectives and allows for a flexible approach to ideas and relationships.
With both Jupiter and Neptune challenging connection, we are filtering and learning to discern what’s real and what’s not. We are asking the questions: what is our reality? Where is it created from? Is it outside of me or inside of me? These are all super big, but necessary questions if we are to take charge of our lives.
Neptune clouds our thinking and judgment, bringing a distortion of our own sense of reality, and with Jupiter the tendency is to exaggerate. There’s a lot of that about right now. We need to know how we are invested in our reality, we need to question where we get attached and identified also. What are your barometers, how do you gauge your reality? What helps you discern what’s yours and what’s not?
With Saturn in Sagittarius, our vision is being tested – how is it in actual reality? Putting visions into form is rarely a smooth process. Today that vision, the meaning and purpose behind it, and the form it needs to take or something else around that might be more accessible than normal. Remember new moons bring new information. Listen to the whispers and know that we are processing deep, often indiscernible, subtle shifts within.
Perhaps this garnering of new information is best channelled through discerning the subtle experiences within our bodies with Venus, Moon and Sun all working in combination. It’s a good time to dialogue with our body, discern what our physical form needs and how the broader, beliefs of the collective and a sense of who we are has made it’s way into our body and consciousness, how and where it’s held in us. It’s a great time to gather information through the body with all this information in Gemini. You might have a fruitful enquiry.
We can now tap into knowing that the bigger picture and our entire consciousness which is limitless, is always in the background, ensuring there is always a reason behind everything. We might not always have access to that, but we can trust in it, even if its showing us urgently what we need to address.
It’s a good time to not be on automatic pilot, remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing, if you know why, and especially if you don’t know why, remind yourself that life is a mysterious process and that’s just ok, you can’t know it all consciously, it’s not needed. We have all we need to know right now, accessible through our body wisdom.
Over time and if over used, our automatic pilot drains the meaning from our lives, we become dense and heavy and unfulfilled, until we remember in essence that there is always meaning somewhere in the midst of it all. What is it that is truly meaningful for you right now and what are you truly grateful for? We have plenty to be grateful for and offering gratitude to life brings us into alignment and helps connect us with life’s meaning, and ultimately our purpose.
This sense of gratitude or grace can flow into our calling and mission, and infuse everything we do, so we are not doing out of emptiness but filled with vital energy. So take a moment to focus on everything you are grateful for no matter how large or little, even if it’s only one thing. Everyday be grateful for it, until you are grateful for everything in your life. Perhaps begin with your body, it carries you, it maintains you and we need to listen to it’s wisdom more, it has so much to share with us.
