We have a Full Moon in Scorpio at 5.23 am on 21st June 2016 at the same time as the conjunction of Venus and Uranus. Both rulers of this Full Moon in Scorpio, Mars (traditional ruler) and Pluto (new rulership) are retrograde, and other planets also are in retrograde motion or about to be, which gives us an inward concentration of their energies. This weekend is the time for innerwork.

The Aries New Moon earlier this month gave us access to an incredible momentum and a very physical, catalyst, raw energy that propelled us forward. But the second half of this month is marked by a considerably different energy. With Mars just turned retrograde in Sagittarius and Saturn already retrograde, it is a time to integrate and consolidate our connection to ourselves and our own higher truth.

With Mars retrograde in Sagittarius this is our time to review our connection to truth, our own truth and other peoples and where we somehow get lost in between those two, sometimes polarised worlds. This is particularly strong around the Scorpio Full Moon.

Scorpio exists below the surface, in the underworld of our consciousness. With these duos, Mars and Pluto retrograde at the same time we might perceive the unconscious within us rising to the surface. It might feel uncomfortable, rising through our anger, even rage and deep old buried memories. This is the time to enter into the realms of the unconscious and let what’s there be acknowledged, witnessed, transmuted and transformed.

Mercury turns retrograde on 28th April in Taurus and joins Mars in triggering the Uranus-Pluto background energy that is continuing to generate themes of liberation and suppression on a global scale. We will then have five planetary energies retrograde until Jupiter goes stationary direct 9th May.

This is an ideal time to reflect on all the changes we have experienced since the last set of March eclipses and go deeper. Mercury retrograde in Taurus also calls us to review what we value, our beliefs and our attitudes. But more than that, it urges us into repetition, a retraining and reworking of our habits of mind, emotions and body. It’s the time to consolidate the new routines, new ways of thinking also, that are now going to bring dividend to our lives. It’s time to work on this and manage ourselves.  Most of all, it’s the time to develop that awareness muscle by noticing our inner processes, responses and observing ourselves.

Of course, we are also journeying into the feminine, learning to manage and tend to our own fires, our own energy, rather than over-compensate, and strive to overcome, and stay in our old destructive behaviours that sabotage our attempts to bring new powerful supportive patterns into our lives. We need to take this Aries New Moon energy and now ground it more fully in working ways.

We will make the most of this retrograde energy if we can direct out energy inwards, and be within. The internal emphasis on all this planetary energy brings the powerful feminine frequency.

Scorpio Full Moons tend to stir passions, especially of the sexual and emotional variety. With the fixed quality of the Taurus Sun and Scorpio Full Moon we could up against challenging conversations, rigidity, stubbornness and intense emotions where we polarise in the heat.

There’s also a lot of exhaustion around. Until we adapt to this shift of an internal focus of our energy, we will feel depleted. And as Scorpio is the phoenix so if we adhere to the process and the river of these energies then we should be able to conserve and rejuvenate our energy in time for the next new moon.
