We have a Full Moon in Aries on 26 September 2026 at 5:49 pm BST.

This is a Harvest Moon—the closest Full Moon to the autumn equinox. Called such as the Moon rises relatively soon after sunset for several successive evenings, which traditionally gave farmers extra evening light for their harvest.

Astrologically, it is also associated with culmination—echoing the symbolism of harvest itself. It’s a moment to take stock of what has ripened over the year, acknowledging what’s come to fruition.

What this means is that we might be grappling with our past choices, where they have taken us and how we now redirect our energy. A Full Moon lights things up, and we often see our lives more clearly than we did a fortnight ago.

This is especially significant since, when casting this Full Moon chart, I noticed the North Node at the end of Aquarius sitting almost exactly on the Pisces Ascendant. For me, this makes this Full Moon about recognising where we need to turn next. The waning fortnight that follows after this Full Moon gives us then time and space to go inside and recognise what then needs shifting.

With the emphasised Aquarius North Node, the question becomes how we follow our own spiritual path while still belonging to a wider group or community. Aquarius is about our relationship with the group and the wider human whole, while the North Node on the Ascendant makes this all the more immediate.

We are asking now how do we connect with our own direction while still participating in collective life? And where is our line: between our individual authority and the group? How do we retain enough authority to act from our own judgement without being consumed by the group?

Group pressure against individual agency is only the surface of it. Underneath are harder questions about who gets to exercise authority and who is actually willing to take responsibility. For instance, a group can assume the right to decide what individuals should or should not do. But if the group wants the authority to say, “this needs to happen this way”, then there also has to be some willingness from those individuals within the group to step up and make things happen as they to. People like to have things both ways—they want authority and yet they do not want to hold themselves accountable.

So dispersed responsibility within a group can often mean that only a few people take on the individual initiative to make things happen. I see this as the shadow side of Aquarius. The leaders or the majority keep the power to block or limit what individuals do, yet they don’t take on the responsibility that should come with that power.

The Leo side of the axis raises the opposite question: does an individual have the right to use their own judgement if they are unwilling to take responsibility for the consequences?

A healthier balance means neither side gets a free pass. The individual needs room to act from their own judgement, but also has to be willing to stand behind their choices. And if a group wants authority over what people can or cannot do, it also has to take some responsibility for the consequences of that authority. At its best, Leo means acting from your own heart and owning that; mature Aquarius means the group answers for the power it uses. Each side needs to be accountable to the other.

With the North Node in the final degree of Aquarius (but at the start of it’s journey as the nodes move backwards 29 to 0), Pluto transiting through Aquarius, Jupiter already in Leo and Mars entering Leo on 29 September, we’re heading into a time when the tension between personal authority and group power will be very hard to ignore.

Part of the deeper transformation of Pluto in Aquarius involves the individual confronting the shadow of the group itself—especially where belonging to the group is conditional on agreement with the group. The collective needs to be first interested in ‘being sovereign’ and secondly it needs to understand it cannot become sovereign by getting rid of the individual.

While all this points towards where we may be going next, the astrology first takes us back over old ground. Venus stations retrograde on 3 October until 14 November, moving backwards through Scorpio, while Mercury is slowing towards his own retrograde starting on 24 October until 13 November. 13-14 November are important days, where we might change our direction or have a realisation—I will be checking our closely what other astrology they coincide with.

So progress won’t be straightforward for a while. We’ll be going back over things and reassessing them before we get to move forward again.

At this Full Moon, the Moon itself is tightly conjunct Neptune in Aries, with the Moon around 4° Aries and Neptune around 3° Aries. So Neptune sits right at the centre of this Full Moon. Aries acts on instinct and wants to know things directly, and Neptune softens that and opens us up to intuition, imagination and subtler levels of perception. We may receive subtle intuitions before the mind can fully catch up. Let the mind take it’s time; let the understanding emerge. I know it sounds cliché, but this is a time to tune in deeper to what’s arising.

Another layer is that the Moon in Aries is in mutual reception with Mars in Cancer: the Moon is occupying Mars’s sign while Mars is occupying the Moon’s sign. Feelings and actions get bound together at this Full Moon. Mars is also exactly square Chiron bringing sensitivity and old wounds to the surface. Mars-Chiron has been active for a week.

If something feels intensely urgent or absolutely true in the moment, there will still be a blurry element to it. While our instincts need our attention here and are forefront, do not forget what that instinct is responding to at the deeper level. Is it about what’s happening now, or is an old, unfinished space in us that’s being stirred up again?

And so all this gives the Moon–Neptune conjunction a lot of complexity.

Saturn is also in Aries, but further away from the Moon-Neptune conjunction. But this means that t his Full Moon echoes back to the Saturn–Neptune conjunction at 1° Aries in February 2026. That conjunction began a much longer 36-year cycle around bringing vision into form: we need to allow what we sense, imagine or perceive on the spiritual realms to slowly acquire its structure and embodiment; this is a life-long process.

In respect to that Saturn-Neptune conjunction earlier in February, and with us now having crossed the September equinox and entered the second half of the astrological year, the Libra Sun sits precisely opposite that important Aries Saturn-Neptune territory, reactivating it.

It feels like a halfway point where we take stock of our lives. It’s worth asking what has proved workable and which parts of our dreams have made it into reality. Some things may still belong to the dreaming stage, and others may be falling apart because they were never built to last.

Saturn–Neptune is therefore about making dreams concrete. This Full Moon might also reveal a gap: between what we hoped for and the unvarnished reality staring us in the face. Neptune can sustain an image or ideal for a very long time (boy do I know that); but Saturn will eventually force us to confront reality and change course accordingly.

The Libra Sun is also engaged in a Grand Air Trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. Alongside the intensely personal and instinctive Aries Moon, there is this other more ‘air’ current, which is about ideas, conversation, and how groups and societies are organised.

Uranus in Gemini accelerates and changes how information is shared and how we think, while Pluto in Aquarius continues transforming the relationship between individuals, networks, groups and collective power. The Libra Sun looks for fair, workable solutions. Even so, things are oscillating back and forth a lot right now, and very little around us feels stable.

And this is perhaps what also creates a tension. One part of the astrology is asking us to stand back, see patterns and recognise rapidly changing social and collective structures. Another part—the personal Aries Moon conjunct Neptune tied through mutual reception to Mars—experiences things very viscerally.

So what can we rely on right now? Honestly, not much, and we may find ourselves trying one thing after another without knowing what will work.

For me, this reinforces the sovereignty theme running through the hugely active Aquarius–Leo axis. Collective structures are changing and our relationship with groups is changing; Leo continually bringing us back to the question of our individual heart.

Where do we stand while there is so much shifting sand around us? Which values are really ours, and where have we given up our own judgement and discernment because of pressure from the group?

Lets not forget that we are also still living within the aftermath of the August eclipses. Eclipses influence us well after the dates themselves, so this Full Moon and the whole of October still sit inside that eclipse season. The Leo eclipse in particular brought us back to limitations around a fuller expression from the heart.

And there is a lot more focus on Leo to come too. With Mars entering Leo on 29 September, only three days after this Full Moon, joining Jupiter in making Leo increasingly prominent. But the shift is more significant when we consider that Mars square Chiron just before he crosses into Leo on 29 September.

Once Mars is in Leo, energy that has been kept inside, and perhaps guarded, starts becoming visibly expressed into the open. Mars in Leo wants to act from the heart and it does so with courage. This will help release the emotional build-up of Mars in Cancer, but it will also increase the importance of knowing now what our drivers actually are. Mars entering Leo can give our responses a lot more force, that needs to be met with awareness.

On top of that, Mars in Leo will quickly enter into an opposition with Pluto in early Aquarius. Mars is willing to assert and be visible from the heart, while Pluto exposes the deeper power dynamics, possibly within groups. Those debates are going to get a lot more… experiential. Mars will also bring his momentum to what Jupiter is already expanding there in Leo, strengthening the emphasis on heart-led expression and personal agency.

Jupiter has now entered its retrograde shadow at 17° Leo in September and will transit to 28° Leo before stationing retrograde on 12 December 2026. He then journeys back to 17° Leo, stationing direct on 13 April 2027. That’s a lot of retrograde Leo. The focus of now, is a part as a much longer unfolding. All these Leo themes of heart, creativity, confidence, visibility and self-expression we will be back and forth with us for many months to come, well into 2027.

But we need to come back to Venus, as this is our most immediate transit. Venus entered Scorpio on 10 September and stations retrograde at 9° Scorpio on 3 October. Here she will journey into a deeper reconsideration of Venus themes: relationship, attraction, intimacy and value. We’ll be looking at what draws us in, including old attractions that reactivate strong feelings, and what our desires reveal about where we are now.

Scorpio takes Venus to the underworld asking us to reassess our attractions. Yes intensity can feel very convincing in Scorpio, but it does not always mean depth; projection, dependency, old fears or wounds can all feel intense too. Venus retrograde will help expose the difference between that has true depth and what is just desperately unmet needs or entanglement. Our job is to then put that discernment into making choices that reflect that.

This ties us nicely back back to the Aries–Libra Full Moon axis. Venus rules Libra, and this Aries Full Moon draws in Libra as it’s axis opposite. Aries-Libra is also a relationship themed axis: self and other respectively. So we get this Full Moon moment of exposure in this relationship axis just before Libra’s ruler turns retrograde. Whatever is revealed on 26 September may therefore become part of a much longer enquiry. Be mindful that it might be a ‘relationship’ themed couple of months.

Venus remains retrograde in Scorpio until she crosses back into Libra on 25 October, where the focus shifts towards reciprocity, fairness and relationship terms. She stations direct at 23° Libra on 14 November in UK time, re-enters Scorpio on 4 December and finally leaves for Sagittarius on 7 January 2027. So by the end of her retrograde and then direct motion process, we will gather valuable information about what we want and it’s roots.

As before mentioned, Mercury then stations retrograde on 24 October and turns direct on 13 November, the day before Venus, reinforcing this journey into revisiting and reconsideration. Prepare to go back over things to find your way through and forward.

Taken all together, this astrology makes this Full Moon feel like a deep, long reckoning and ripening albeit non linear process. Let things be recognised, felt first, then reconsidered perhaps from several different angles. If the next chapter is clear for you, let the coming weeks help you understand more deeply what is now required for that to come deeper into form. I suspect you are also, like me, holding various strands alive at the same time; this is normal in these times, let them weave themselves together. Trust they will find their own pattern and be in witness to that journey. It’s always more fun when we get out of our own way.

Aries Rising — Full Moon in the 1st House / Venus Retrograde in the 8th House
This is one of the more significant signs for the Full Moon itself. Something about your direction, identity or needs may come sharply into view, especially where you have been orientating yourself around another person. Venus then turns retrograde through the 8th house, taking you deeper into intimacy, trust, shared money and emotional entanglement. What you realise about yourself now may change what you are prepared to merge with, depend upon or remain invested in.

Taurus Rising — Full Moon in the 12th House / Venus Retrograde in the 7th House
Venus is your ruling planet, so this retrograde carries extra weight. The Full Moon may first bring something private closer to consciousness — a feeling, memory or recognition that has been developing beneath the surface. Venus then moves backwards through partnership, bringing questions of closeness, loyalty, desire and what each person is really bringing into the relationship.

Gemini Rising — Full Moon in the 11th House / Venus Retrograde in the 6th House
Friendships, community and your place within a group come into focus. Venus then brings work, routines and the everyday use of your time back under review. You may become much more selective about where your energy goes and what genuinely feels worth the effort.

Cancer Rising — Full Moon in the 10th House / Venus Retrograde in the 5th House
The Full Moon lands at the top of your chart, so career, purpose or public direction may reach an important point of recognition. Something about where you are heading becomes easier to see. Venus retrograde then takes you back into romance, creativity and pleasure, asking what actually brings you alive and what your heart genuinely wants more of.

Leo Rising — Full Moon in the 9th House / Venus Retrograde in the 4th House
A belief, direction or larger understanding may begin to make much more sense. Venus then turns back through home, family and your emotional foundations. The life you want to move towards may require some adjustment in the private structures underneath it.

Virgo Rising — Full Moon in the 8th House / Venus Retrograde in the 3rd House
Something around intimacy, trust, shared resources or emotional exchange becomes clearer. Venus then brings conversations, agreements and significant words back around. There may be more to understand about what has already been said and what sits underneath it.

Libra Rising — Full Moon in the 7th House / Venus Retrograde in the 2nd House
This is one of the key signs for the whole period. The Full Moon lands directly in your relationship house, bringing another person, partnership or agreement into sharp focus. Venus, your ruling planet, then turns retrograde through money, value and self-worth. What happens in relationship may lead straight into deeper questions about what something is worth to you, what you are prepared to give for it, and whether the exchange reflects the value you place upon yourself.

Scorpio Rising — Full Moon in the 6th House / Venus Retrograde in the 1st House
Venus stations retrograde in your own sign, so this becomes very personal. The Full Moon may first expose something through work, health or the pressures of everyday life, but Venus quickly turns attention back towards you. What do you actually want now? What are you attracting, and why? The way you relate, present yourself and respond to desire may shift considerably over the coming months.

Sagittarius Rising — Full Moon in the 5th House / Venus Retrograde in the 12th House
Romance, creativity, pleasure or something close to your heart reaches a point of recognition. Venus then moves into the hidden 12th house territory, where old attachments, private desires and deeper emotional patterns can surface. The real story may run deeper than it first appears.

Capricorn Rising — Full Moon in the 4th House / Venus Retrograde in the 11th House
Home, family and your emotional foundations are strongly highlighted. Something in your private life may reach a point where it clearly needs attention. Venus then turns backwards through friendship and community, bringing your sense of belonging under review. Some connections may deepen, while others reveal more about where you genuinely fit now.

Aquarius Rising — Full Moon in the 3rd House / Venus Retrograde in the 10th House
A conversation, decision or piece of information may shift how you see something. Venus then retrogrades across the top of your chart, making career and public direction a much bigger story. What do you want to be known for now, and does the role you occupy reflect what actually matters to you?

Pisces Rising — Full Moon in the 2nd House / Venus Retrograde in the 9th House
Money, value and self-worth come into view first, along with a clearer sense of where your energy is going and what feels worth sustaining. Venus then turns retrograde through belief, meaning and the wider direction of your life. An idea, teaching or path you once trusted may need another look from where you stand now, particularly if your understanding of what gives life meaning has begun to change.
