This Pisces New Moon at 9.36 am GMT on 20th March 2015 is also a total Solar Eclipse. Total eclipses are rare as most eclipses are only partial. Even rarer is that it’s in the final critical degree of the zodiac – 29 degrees Pisces, just on the verge of the Sun entering Aries, which is the powerful Aries Zero Point, the start of the astrological wheel.

This all combined couldn’t probably signify a more powerful ending to something in our lives (and remember all endings foretell a beginning). Expect the biggest of changes, especially if you are on your path of unfolding – your higher self, the divinity within IS wanting the best for you despite at times appearing otherwise. Remember spirit works in crazy ways and puts us through our paces to challenge our ability to trust completely regardless of the logic, rationale or suffering behind experience. The more we can ingrain this deep sense and belief in life working out regardless of the trials and tribulations, the more we manifest powerful, beneficial outcomes to what seem at first deeply unfair situations.

Solar eclipses occur when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, at a New Moon this is when the Sun and Moon form a conjunction, i.e meet together.  As this eclipse meets on the verge of the Zero degrees Aries point, it marks the first equinox of the year, traditionally a time of ritual and ceremony, where the veils between this world and the heavens are most transparent. Also this new moon happens just four days after the final Uranus is square Pluto, suggesting a deepening of letting go and clearing out the old of what we’ve been working through over the last 6 years or so. So I would say we are dealing with psychological, emotional and physical endings – all in one.

Eclipses land in groups, known as eclipse season, and are powerful events that act to bring unavoidable changes into our lives, often a time of crisis for some and for others aturning point that springboards us into new territory – it all depends on our perception. On a grander scale they shift and shape the consciousness of humanity. We distinguish an eclipse from an ordinary new moon by the presence of lunar nodes in close proximity – when the Sun and Moon form either a conjunction or an opposition within 19 degrees of either of the Nodes of the Moon. In this case, it’s about 10 degrees away. The nodes, like eclipses, direct our lives, realign us with our purpose and keep us on track, even if it isn’t always in the way that our ego would choose for ourselves.

A New Moon Solar Eclipse often has an external effect dealing with actual events or situations in our lives that we have not consciously precipitated yet usually in an area where new seeds need to be sown for the future. It is a time to cleanse, release and let go in preparation for the new cycle. With the Sun at the zenith degree of Pisces – the sign of letting go, surrendering and acceptance – we might be faced with a time to really go deeper into this process, so we can fully be prepared to welcome the new. Other planets also moving through Pisces -Neptune, Chiron and Mercury – are also supporting this process. The more we can let go, the more we can give birth to the new. Going fully into the letting go will support a smoother transition into this new astrological year.

With the Sun moving into Aries fully the following day we have a huge upsurge of energy. As the beginning of the zodiac, Aries initiates our ventures and projects for the entire astrological year. This eclipse is a perfect beginning point to seed your new seeds, beckoning towards you your dreams and wishes for this year. This is the case with all new moons but this one especially since it is magnified by the eclipse energy.

When it comes to focusing on our dreams, its best to imagine we are experiencing our dreams through all the chakras – in a sense then, all our channels and senses. For example, see with your third eye what it is that you want to happen, feel your heart’s desire and let your feelings draw it to you, put your dream into action, do what you need to do to make it happen using your 1st chakra and speak about it with your 5th, trusting in the perfect timing of your 2nd chakra. Our dreams must always end with coming back down into the earth, where our purpose is manifested, through Gaia, otherwise they are left floundering up in the ether.

We have some strong lunar energy with the moon blocking out the Sun first then later Mars and Uranus. What do you suppose the Moon is trying to tell us here? I sense a strong focus on the body at this eclipse time. Particularly since Venus is now transiting Taurus. I think we will really feel this eclipse in our body, deeply, and it could get quite uncomfortable. It’s probably not the best time to indulging in alcohol or drugs since the body will really rebel at this time. This is essentially about the grounding process, and it could feel like a smack into the body. Yet sometimes the grounding process has to happen that way, since most of us spend no time actually paying much attention to having a body. The body keeps banging on the door until it has to knock the door down.

Eclipses change the earth’s electromagnetic energy field, as well as our own personal fields, hence the more jittery, unpredictable energy – like you’ve drank a bottle of luzosade in 5 minutes – an electric, wired effect.  As the Moon comes between the Earth and Sun, she breaks their auric connection allowing for the entry of energies from other dimensions. It’s a shaky time, eclipse season, and for a day or so we can feel vulnerable and unprotected as our bodies experience the shake up of our etheric fields. Our connection to our own centre ad higher self is integral at this time, stopping us spinning off, as well as taking really good care of ourselves physically. Avoid pushing beyond your usual boundaries as responses at all levels will be more extreme.

Our minds can run wild with indecision too, questions, incomplete answers to what we know we need to resolve – the impossible stares us in the face and our lower consciousness grapples to make sense of it, offering little or no creativity. Again, things will get clearer as the weeks progress into April, just staying in balance and keeping your vibration high is enough. Avoid getting pulled into the depths of despair, keep your resoluteness knowing that as always the answers will find you and your higher authentic self is looking out for you, even when it appears she is not! Trust in that, spirit never, ever deserts us.
