The Moon is Full in Capricorn at 17 degrees on 9th July 2017 at 4.06 am GMT. A Full Moon is the culmination point of a lunar cycle. Mars has been very active at this Full Moon and continues to be for the month remainder.

As far as Full Moons go, this one is more intense and broody than most. There’s a potential for some broody, bad tempers, but a lot of it will be kept under wraps, since Cancer energy dominates the astrological weather and Cancer is anything but direct & to the point.

The big news is that this Full Moon in Capricorn is conjunct Pluto, making the Sun opposite Pluto (exact on 10th July). This is one reason for a potent, drama filled Full Moon.

Pluto’s appearance on the scene creates the potential for obsessions getting more intense, bringing things to a bit of a crescendo. There’s a strong possibility that this Full Moon energy will channel through the body, in our relationships and our feelings, that we will feel it in our symptoms, in our strong emotions.

Most Capricorn Full Moons would be capable of grounding us but with the Sun conjunct Mars, and the Moon conjunct Pluto, we have quite the opposite kind of astrological weather. It takes us into extreme responses, which arise from an overwhelmed nervous system.

We can go very deep with Moon conjunct Pluto. Emotions become intensified, exchanges more passionate. It might not even be possible to stay ‘on top’. This kind of energy is ideally taking us more inward, more introspectively focused, even if we have to deal with our relationships, we do it from an internally stable place.

But we just need to watch out for the intensity impacting our ability to access our awareness. As at this Capricorn Full Moon, Mars, the planet of war, opposes Pluto, the planet of destruction. Soon after Mars squares the rebellious planet Uranus, which is on-going for a good few days.

It’s either intense breakthrough or intense breakdown. Another option with these energies is an intense breakdown that leads to a breakthrough. Sometimes we need to go all the way into the darkness to rise like the phoenix. It is part of the process. The current energies will support this process if we find enough courage to “follow the white rabbit”.

With the Sun’s conjunction to Mars we have an intense stream of energy for better or worse. It can be used constructively to get things done and follow through, or it can be utilised mindlessly and lead to destruction. Such process, when in Cancer, as it happens now, tends to have a more defensive, passive aggressive edge. The attack is through defence. Is this in your relationships right now? Bring some awareness to where you can’t quite say what needs to be said.

The on-going background quincunx between Jupiter and Neptune, brought into the foreground at this Capricorn Full Moon, highlights no straightforward answers and a need for adjustments as a response to that.

We are asking ourselves what can we rely on? What are the certainties? Who and what can we trust? Perhaps part of the answer now, is that we can trust very little right now for the unknown and a sea of uncertainty preside.

For some of us, this is the background stress and tension, will feel irresolvable and send us into feeling confined, limited or hopeless. We might be looking at our situation from different angles and perspectives, weighing up the pros and cons, and feeling like there are no valid options that make sense or hold weight.

A quincunx brings a sense of constant compromise and adjustment, but even with that, very little feels clear or a right option right now. Stay close to yourself and catch yourself if your frustration begins to boil over at this Full Moon, or you begin to shut down with hopelessness.

Remind yourself it’s all for a reason. The Sun is making a positive trine to Neptune, supporting us in getting more creative solutions. Our Divine connection is particularly important for creative, miraculous answers to difficult problems. It can bring inspiration out of the blue, where before there seemed no way forward.

Sun Neptune awakens the part of us that stands for the ideal, the vision and the dream. It keeps us open, when we might feel like collapsing. Working with it though might require us to let go of what our idea of ideal or right for us is. Our Divine selves are always urging us in directions we would never have dreamed of – even in our craziest moments.

Just being present with the seeming mess, mistakes and stuff that can’t be resolved or changed is a big step towards seeding the ground for a miracle.

Returning to what a ‘normal’ Full Moon in Capricorn is, might be helpful here. Full Moons bring elucidation, culmination or information. So we might have a bit more of a piece of the puzzle. But we don’t have all of it yet.

Capricorn is about making it real, giving life some structure, being prepared to have a plan and lay some foundations. A degree of shrewdness is helpful at these times, when too many anomalies or variables are present. It’s a good antidote to this world of incessant information and opinion, telling us what to believe and who we are or should be.

There’s no quick easy answer right now, so just ask more questions, gather more information, have the conversations you need to have, and keep people informed (Venus is in Gemini making an on-going aspect to Mercury – they are moving in tandem).

With all this Cancer energy activated, take more time to allow yourself to feel into what’s right. Take your time to discover the right path for you. It’s not there on a plate for you now and it perhaps won’t be for a while. Don’t stress if that’s the case, let it be, relax and start looking at what you do know, rather than stressing over what you don’t.

From 15th to 21st July, Mars tightly squares Uranus, and with the Moon in Aries, it accentuates the potential for combative, rebellious and argumentative tendencies. We can channel this energy by connecting with our more playful, adventurous side. Get your adrenalin going, and stir your energy constructively. It’s a great time to do some serious etheric or space clearing work.

Ultimately, the Capricorn Full Moon, with Mars and Pluto’s involvement, is asking us to harness this powerful Pluto energy with some good old solid ambition, hard work and productivity. If we channel this energy in this way, with focus and determination, then we can make some headway, or at least feel good about the fact we are doing the best we can do.
