We have a Full Moon in Pisces at on 14th September 2019 at 4.33 am GMT in Virgo season is a time for cleansing and regeneration of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. It’s unusual to have so many planets in a sign, and furthermore a sign that hasn’t seen much activity for a while. Until 14th, the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars are all transiting Virgo and so either closely or widely opposing the Pisces Full Moon.
This Full Moon is close to the Aries point of zero degrees and it’s within arc minutes of the Mars-Neptune opposition. Mercury and Venus are about to leave Virgo and move into Libra…. But not quite.
At this Full Moon, they form a conjunction, which is where they merge together – this doesn’t happen very often. We are in touch with what we love and can more easily express this than at other times. It’s a good time for making friends and reaching agreements as communication is filled with ease.
Their movement into Libra will affect them both twofold; diminish Mercury’s condition (Virgo is Mercury’s home sign and he prefers Virgo) while improve Venus’s (she is much happier in her home sign of Libra). Depending on what these planets and signs rule in your chart, you will be affected accordingly.
With Virgo, we have a strong sense of service, duty and responsibility and an ability to ground our desires. The Sun’s trine to Pluto on 13th intensifying the Virgo Sun’s energy and this ability to transform and ground, bringing positive transformation, and a powerful shift or perhaps rebirth.
On 21st, a day before the equinox on the morning of 23rd, Jupiter and Neptune, who have relatively similar energies form a square. Yet there’s one major difference between these two planets and that is Saturn. While they are both expansive, spiritual, and boundary-less, Jupiter unlike Neptune cannot escape beyond Saturn. There are no limits with Neptune, it expands to infinity and beyond. Jupiter on the other hand is like a balloon which can cannot expand beyond it’s limit.
This square is the third of three which is one of the ongoing astrological aspects that defines 2019. It’s a year where our faith, trust and resolve is sorely tested. There might be disappointments to face. In the face of confronting illusions, it’s a time to stay grounded and if the unexpected does arise look at what you believed that got you into that place.
If it’s any comfort, we are all facing this right now, we all need to process our illusions, expectations and ideals. We cannot escape this important journey of uncovering our own truth, in this case it’s a deeper or higher truth, and it’s not easy to come by under these astrological conditions.
It’s ok to be cynical, skeptical and doubtful when you have a transit such as this. It’s there to keep you asking questions rather than relying on rose tinted glasses, misguided optimism or blind faith.
Ultimately this is going to make us more grounded, since being forced to face reality brings about new perspective. It also encourages us to look at ways in which we blind ourselves to the truth, because we often find it’s easier to kid ourselves than truly look at ourselves and go into our depths.
Does the illusion reveal a form of self-sabotage, a deep fear of inadequacy or insecurity, a need that’s unfulfilled, a deep longing, a projection, any many other things besides.
Here Jupiter-Neptune also helps us develop a greater sense of optimism, courage and even enthusiasm about life. As we align more with reality and less with illusion, we deal with the here and now, we come back to earth and feel more empowered to take steps that reflect the present state. Its an opportunity to ground into the present, address things and take practical steps. It’s unwise to take steps forward when we are not sure of what steps to take.
So Jupiter is shining a light into the thick Neptunian fog for the next few weeks. If you can’t see where you’re going, thats ok, you are not meant to, so just work on getting grounded, slowing down and proceeding with care. Things in the way now are more slippery than solid and even perhaps more of the imagination and illusionary world than we give them credit.
Perhaps we can step beyond all the illusion and catch our reality in the present be happy with what we have and who we are, after all we are enough as we are, and our lives can be simple, or simpler. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves how important simplifying our lives can be. I see this as Virgo season – separating the wheat from the chaff, clearing out the tangible closet, and the dense, intangible closet of our consciousness.
Under Neptune conditions, it’s necessary to catch yourself making assumptions, and verify with facts. Jupiter in Sagittarius may represent your higher aspirations; it can and often does, and we all need to aspire to something. Keep those ideals in mind, as you might recall that Jupiter is approaching Capricorn (in early December) and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction.
For quite some time now, the Capricorn focus of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction has been increasing pressure and forcing shifts. You could say that this is another kind of realism; a time of dealing with the practical world rather than flights of fancy.
This is a large part of the perplexing chaos we’re all feeling: the sense that nothing seems to fit, feel right, or that things are getting worse around us. That sense of the world going to pot, even if we are lucky enough to not have it in our own world. In fact things are not getting worse, it’s just that more light is coming into situations that before were hidden. The light reveals what’s in the darkness – the manipulations, the agendas. I always find this a reassuring reminder.
The same applies with our own personal consciousness. When the past is revealed, we discover it is not real. It is just a bag of illusions and fears. We can give all these illusions a lot of power, if we are not careful. We can say our lives are spiralling down, and that it’s all bad and wrong. Or we can see it as a valuable opportunity to reframe and change our perspective.
As I mentioned in the last post, the planetary energy in Virgo trines Capricorn and so this takes some pressure off the ‘Capricorn’ experience of everything falling a part. It’s good that some of this intensity has been dissolved and Virgo helps us put things together, make connections, and to experience the sensation of weaving and integrating. This is what we can focus our laser Virgo vision on.
Virgo at it’s essence is integration, and this is about what’s integral, and integrity. Getting to the place of integration is a journey of integrity, starting first and foremost with yourself. We might not know what’s real or true for us, but that doesn’t impede integration. Our commitment (Juno in Virgo) to the process of becoming whole and integral is what’s important.
Reach into your truth, and don’t worry if you can’t find it. The process of reaching is the very thing that gives you your integration.
So, when you bring a Pisces Full Moon, a Jupiter-Neptune square together with a strong focus on it’s opposing sign of Virgo, you get extremes of spectrum – exacting focus and then also that which lacks any focus at all.
With Sun and Mars more or less exacting opposing Neptune in Pisces, we have a heightening of the tug of war between real and unreal, focus and diffuse. Virgo narrows and Pisces expands, Jupiter amplifies both aspects more. This is the fundamental dilemma of the Jupiter-Neptune square. It’s just SO extreme. And when things are so extreme, we just feel like we need to do something.
Interesting, the Pisces Moon goes void right at its moment of fullness. This essentially means it’s not a good time to start new things or do anything important until it moves into Aries on Sunday evening. So this is a Full Moon to meditate with and find your own answers.
The answers might very much come, especially with the Pluto influence, but as ever with the outer planets, don’t expect them to appear in any certain form, as you will likely be disappointed. And if you are disappointed, if life has called shot on the illusions, then let that emptiness be something that feeds you. Be open to whatever emerges from it as that will be precisely what you need deep within to feel integrated and whole.

8 Of Swords/Feathers
The eye’s vision. A changing of perspectives. The stronger you hold on to the past and the more you copy it again and again, the more distorted and grotesque your perception will become. Recognise shadows and ghosts for what they really are. When do they show up? Why do they show up? How do they come into being? Recognise their dynamics and play with it. Everything you see is you. It is all perceived on your retina. It all looks very threatening – it’s amazing what our thoughts can do to us when we feel trapped and isolated by them and there’s no discernible means of escape. Sight here is equated with mental clarity, and it is by looking directly at what is threatening us that we are able to see the threat for what it is.

The Army – The Elected Leader
The point of convergence. Be disciplined enough to allow reason and forethought to override any emotional considerations. Explore whether you approach life and others with a sense of battle. Balance individual needs with the respect of others. Do what nourishes you, as emptiness will lead to instant gratification, and an endless cycle of fulfilling what is missing. Remember something more fundamental remains unfulfilled within. You can find pleasure in what you do only when it taps and authenticates your full capabilities. You become the leader when you are fulfilled within and integral to yourself. It’s about working with others, returning to more social interaction, let others augment your visions.
