We have a Gemini New Moon on 26 May 2025 at 03:02 GMT.
This Gemini New Moon initiates a mentally active and potentially decisive fortnight. Gemini stimulates movement, variety, dialogue, and mental recalibration. With so many clients in Gemini—the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter—there is a strong emphasis on how information is shared and processed. This is a cerebral lunation—highly responsive, inviting us to consciously participate in how thoughts and choices come to be.
Mercury, the ruler of this New Moon, is at home in Gemini (until it moves into Cancer on 8 June). This strengthens language and social connection, helping us sort through complexity, and preparing us for meaningful mental focus. Conversations during this time reveal complex patterns, priorities, and assumptions. Decisions made now will have an longer term impact—so being intentional and conscious about those choices is important.
Rather than just emphasising contradictions (which it can), Gemini can also potentially hold them. Which means rather than choosing one side of a polarity, both can coexist. This is its complexity. Jupiter in the end degrees of Gemini also enhances this effect. He’s been expanding the mental field, creating more access and exchange between ideas, data, and dialogue, for a year.
Yet with it, there’s an increase in stimulation. And you might now be strongly feeling the sensory overload. Gemini governs the nervous system—how our system receives, sorts, and responds to input. Our nervous systems need grounding at this time, it will help us discern better choices.
Certainly Jupiter does not prioritise quality over quantity! So the responsibility lies with us to choose wisely. Choose your input and information carefully – it’s only useful when aligned with your actual direction, your true north node as we say.
This New Moon forms a supportive, flowing trine to Pluto in Aquarius (now retrograde since 3 May). This aspect lends depth, intensity and even rage to what may otherwise feel relatively unimportant. But Pluto will also support us to observe our unconscious patterning—especially the kind installed early through social norms, the education system, or familial imprinting. This added intensity to the already strong Gemini mix is not easy to hold. Slow down, breathe, put things into perspective, take care of yourself as much as you can.
This lunation sits within a much larger timeline. A few days ago on 24 May, Saturn entered Aries, initiating a new two-and-a-half-year cycle focused on disciplined action, responsibility, individuation and initiation. Saturn in Aries asks: are your actions backed by coherence? Do your steps reflect your inner truth? We are in a sense in a process of liberation, where we no longer feel the need to depend on outside authority to act—although this process is only just beginning. The principle here being self-direction with an embodied will.
The tension between Saturn in Aries and the party in Gemini is between agility and groundedness. Gemini encourages movement and multiplicity. Saturn in Aries introduces parameters. The challenge becomes: how can fast mental activity coexist with deliberate, aligned action? Rather than seeking one approach or answer to this, allow this tension to refine the quality of your thinking. Our sovereignty depends on the ability to lead your mind, rather than just follow its many impulses.
A few days earlier, on 25 May, Mercury formed a conjunction with Uranus in Taurus. This alignment can bring breakthrough thinking, unusual insights, and high-voltage mental energy. While the peak has passed, the residue of this aspect carries through the New Moon. Whatever came through at that time is important.
Some may experience sudden shifts in perception or decision-making also. For others, it may appear as a deeper layer of instability arising in turn challenging our sense of self. The key is to remain present enough to observe the shifts without becoming reactive or going into the binary of the limbic sysem (potentially too Gemini!). Choose response over reflex.
Venus, now also in Gemini, brings relationship patterns and values into a wider conversation. Relating styles may shift – or be in shift. Agreements form or unravel through dialogue. Venus in Gemini experiments, observes, and moves between options before landing—it’s like it needs to circle around things a few times before it makes it’s decision.
Between this New Moon and the upcoming Full Moon, several shifts prepare the ground for deeper emotional integration, something we are going to need with all this movement. Mercury enters Cancer on 26 May, followed by Jupiter entering Cancer on 10 June. Both transitions take the energy from air (mental) to water (emotional). Focus changes to the inner landscape—home, family, memory, and attachment. What was discussed under Gemini becomes felt. The nervous system can now rest and integrate. It helps to slow the level of input as these transitions approach.
Throughout this window until the Full Moon, the broader tone is awareness to action. Saturn in Aries, Jupiter in Gemini, and Mercury’s dignified role all say don’t wait for ideal conditions, just go for it, use initiative, dance your life. Embrace trial and error at this time (as much as stress levels allow). Allow all of this to refine who you are.
Signigicantly, the current Venus cycle is also completing a phase. Venus has just re-entered the degree of its retrograde shadow, which began months ago. This is the perfect time to review what began in February or March in respect to all Venutian areas.
What risks have you taken? Which boundaries have shifted? Has your internal dialogue become more supportive, or does it still repeat older frames? This moment offers us a life timestamp or checkpoint: look to integrate progress, name further work needed, and stabilise what has already been achieved.
Up until the Full Moon it helps to remain adaptable, but focused. Gemini disperses quickly. Set clear intentions so there’s a trajectory. Review where you’ve outsourced your thought process. Reclaim space in your own mind. Anchor attention to what holds value and relevance. Know we are deeply reexamining how we communicate ourselves and for this our mental process is at the forefront.
This is a highly supportive time for those developing new styles or approaches to learning, networking, or creating systems of support. But it will reward agency, discernment, and relational honesty above all else.
Those willing to revise (adapt) habits, communicate clearly, and act from greater alignment will experience progress, even if it arrives incrementally. But to keep things in context, everyone is experiencing the intensity of these times. We are all being rung through the mill. Intensity is in fact a shared backdrop. While the expressions vary, the underlying themes of pressure, re-evaluation, and change are present in nearly every personal landscape right now, no exceptions.
Let this lunation mark the next step in your self-directed path. Speak with integrity. Choose clarity over complication. Walk in alignment with your current understanding. You already have the capacity, we can get there, just keep moving at the rate that works, try and dance it. And let that shape the way forward.
