We have a Full Moon in Libra on 2 April 2026 at 2:11 GMT.
The Full Moon in Libra arrives in the early hours with the Moon at 12°20′ Libra opposite the Sun in Aries. Full Moons are a culmination, illuminating something that has been developing since the New Moon, and in Libra, this is often through relationship. Libra seeks fairness, and with Libra scales are constantly adjusting.
Libra is ruled by Venus, and Venus brings attention to value, appreciate, give and receive in return. This Libra Full Moon reveals where the equilibrium has been disturbed, and where we need to redress the balance. Perhaps there’s a conversation we’ve been putting off that suddenly feels necessary, or a relationship pattern that becomes clear. Under this lunation, we may notice where the exchange has become unequal or where unspoken agreements have shaped the course of a relationship or our relating.
This Full Moon follows directly on from the Pisces New Moon, where emotional material gathered, deepened, and reached a point of completion. It is also worth recognising that after emotional release or realisations, there is often less tolerance since when something has cleared, even if subtly, our discernment grows as the contrast becomes sharper. We might not be prepared to overlook or tolerate in the same way—which is always a good thing.
With the Mercury retrograde turning direct on that New Moon, we might have received some important information in the lead up. This might then contribute in some way to the deepening, decision or completion that happens naturally at New Moons. For some, this Libra Full Moon may bring more recognition that things are just not the same now. For others, it may highlight a place where self-respect must stand more firmly within a partnership or agreement.
Opposite this Moon, the Sun in Aries brings a very different impulse. Aries moves from instinct and immediacy. It acts before we have time to consider and reflect. The Aries-Libra axis highlights the space between self-direction and accommodation. Many people spend years leaning too far in one direction. Some suppress their own impulse in order to keep peace with others. Others assert themselves so strongly that cooperation becomes impossible. There can also be a tendency to push too far or respond too quickly, particularly if something has already been building over time.
Now in the more relational space of Libra, where those inner experiences begin to show themselves through interaction with others, we might be noticing the patterns in our relationships that are holding us back. In Libra, these patterns are no longer internal. They are reflected back clearly through others, making them harder to overlook. It could also be about the parts within us, and our inner relationship. Parts that we haven’t let live within us even.
The Libra Full Moon is conjunct Sabian symbol “Children Blowing Soap Bubbles” which can reveal relationship dynamics in our life that are fragile, inflated (like a balloon), or sustained mainly by mirrors and projection. It might also show you which ones have enough substance to last the years. This reflects also a deeper theme highlighted by the full moon’s conjunction to Makemake.
This Full Moon conjunct dwarf planet Makemake (although there is nothing ‘dwarf’ about them) brings in the connection of what we create over time and what continues to exist into the future. In Libra, this brings a clear focus to the longer-term reality of relationships, not just how they feel now, but what they are gradually becoming. This can bring us awareness of where relationships are being maintained through effort rather than love. Some dynamics feel strong or consuming, yet are not about longevity, while others, more subtle, less obvious, can actually establish themselves and endure over time.
Perhaps then, part of this, and from this recognition, we can begin to take a different approach to our relationships and choose different foundations that are more sustainable overtime. The question is what sustains genuine partnership?
Libra is traditionally associated with balance, yet balance in this sign doesn’t arrive through avoidance. The scales of Libra only adjust when something real and tangible is placed on them. We are being asked to look at our lives in real terms now, in order for us to move forward strongly with the Fire Horse energy available this year.
When the Sun stands in Aries and the Moon in Libra, the question becomes: how do we remain true to ourselves while staying in relationship with others? The Pisces New Moon drew attention to what had been held beneath the surface, including emotion that had not fully moved through. As that begins to clear, what remains becomes visible.
It shows up in how we relate, what we tolerate, and what we are no longer willing to continue with, since it simply is not sustainable. When something can no longer continue, it creates space (if we let it go). It’s important to remember that what comes next into our lives is influenced by what is chosen next, not by what has ended.
On top of this, the background emphasis is still on the Eris-Chiron conjunction. The ostracised, marginalised and taboo is still in a collective process of being brought into the truth of the light. Often we believe we are experiencing things personally, but more often than not we are processing things way beyond ourselves.
This is because many powerful but repressed forces are repressed within us. We are not able to fully be our whole selves with our bodies stuffed into tight jackets most of the time. This collective repression has then an impact on those most sensitive in the world; those able to bring the marginalised material into the light.
In other words, they end up doing the work so these forces get space to be felt.
The Moon’s conjunction to Makemake supports more of us to start welcoming what we’ve stuffed down. If Eris is currently working with Chiron to expose what has been pushed aside, with Chiron bringing the experience of that into consciousness, them Makemake asks what can be built from this in a way that can actually continue. In other words how can these parts or forces continue to exist once they have been brought into awareness.
It’s important to state that just because something has been expressed, exposed, seen or felt, it does not automatically become part of your life. Once something becomes clear, yes there is a question of what happens next. It doesn’t mean you get to live with that new truth integrated fully. Most truths are recognised but then fade back into the background, with nothing changes radically in a person’s life.
For us to make change our experience of relationships and who we attract, then we need to question our choices and behaviour, and much in between. Makemake asks: does this truth have somewhere to go? Can it exist in your life in a real, ongoing way? This is the difference between where what has been revealed either takes form and continues, or is forgotten.
In respect to our relationships, we might be asking, is this now sustainable? Does it rely on constant effort to maintain the balance? This can also highlight tensions between what is yours to carry and what is shared, especially where that balance has been uneven for some time. Is something being overused or over given? Am I receiving what I need in this relationship? When we continue to maintain something draining or invest our energy into something that cannot support you in return, then we get increasingly out of alignment.
It brings the question of sustainability to the foreground also: which expressions of truth, of beingness, can take more form in us and in our lives over time, and which will remain suppressed because there is no structure internally or in our lives to support them. In this way, it asks us if what has been revealed can move from being simply pressure a system (body, relationship, workplace) into lived reality.
Just remember, as with all Full Moons, the bright illumination of the Moon rarely creates the issue it reveals. It simply brings into view what has already been developing, what we haven’t had the capacity to confront or integrate. So over the days surrounding this lunation, pay attention to what becomes increasingly obvious to you. The emotional depth of Pisces has done its part. Now, through Libra, those inner awareness shifts are reflected back through all the relationship layers and levels. Invite the scales to show where the heaviness truly lies, and then it will become much easier to see your next step.
On another level, if you are experiencing the expansion of the Fire Horse at this time, it’s your time to consider: what am I here to establish now, so strongly, that it will endure across time and memory? As Makemake teaches, you have that within yourself already, and so you can build it from within.
This is where it becomes clear that you do not need to look outside for more knowledge, experience, or permission in order to move forward. What you have within you is already enough.
The question now is whether you allow the truth and essence of what you now know to take form within your own life, or within the lives of others if you feel it’s something you need to now share more widely.
