It’s Solstice here in the northern hemisphere, the longest day of the year and with some relief the Sun ingressed into feeling Cancer. On Friday 27th June 2014 at 8.10 am we have a Cancer New Moon. This will provide quick relief to excessive more challenging Gemini energy that we’ve been experiencing – Cancer helps us ground, it takes us out of our heads and into our body and feeling – something we all need more of. Mercury is retrograde for a few more days, direct on 1st July.

By and large this new moon is a breath of fresh air. Fresh air for some people can be difficult for others. One of the closest aspects at this new moon is a lovely Moon/Sun trine Neptune – its influence is creative, romantic and spiritual.  Also Mercury retrograde making a trine to the North Node in Libra (sextile to South node in Aries) gives us a fantastic new moon for organising anything Mercury related – that’s communication, projects, local community – how we network and our get togethers. Wait until Mercury is direct on 1st July to push this, you’ll still have the new moon energy then. There are also big relationship themes and lots of potential for new, healing awareness to filter or in some cases flood through – this has been waiting in the wings for some time now.

A new moon in Cancer trine to Neptune speaks of healing the inner child, or early childhood experiences. Neptune is healing through our connection to all that is, the world of essence. We are more likely to experience essence-like experiences that feel creative and flowing, feel connected to the wider cosmos, each other and most importantly, the divinity within us that sustains and gives us life.

Due to other relationship influences discussed later, we now have the perfect opportunity for creative, flowing perceptions of who we are and who others are, seen from a higher self-perspective.   Our higher selves are working close with us right now.  Perception is key, it creates our reality.  We create our reality from a higher plane when we tap into a higher essence dimension of what that reality is, rather than an illusion.  On another note, these perceptions can go as easily as they come, its Neptune after all – not tangible or containable – so if we want to learn best from these experiences, find a way to anchor these experiences tangibly in some way so it doesn’t pass you by.

On a deeper level, with the North Node Libra theme there’s big stuff being worked out is our personal relationships. We are releasing and letting go of that which keeps us painfully separate, while at the same time learning to say, no this is where my boundaries lay. This is a long term process being explored into 2015. Both sides need to be honoured within us, and there is considerable tension between these parts. We are not quite in a place where we know what’s true for us, we are still working it out. What is clear though is that this planetary energy can bring in surprises, hope inspiring and also tests.

In the last few days, Mars has just moved out of a square with Pluto and is now opposing Uranus, exact on 25th June. Mars is now making its third and final aspect over the past six months to Uranus, bringing also a tense, disruptive and erratic feel for this new moon, before it moves out of Libra and into Scorpio. In its detriment in Libra, Mars has been showing us how our desires and actions are driven and programmed into us by the world around us. The big question we are asking ourselves is who or what controls and conditions us, who is the boss of us?

Since December collaboration has been important, we need to all work better together better, more consciously, but often to cooperate better we need to be first more clear on who we are and what we hold dear – better collaboration with ourself first and foremost, knowing who we are and what we can compromise on and what we can’t.

On 30th June, Saturn and Uranus form a quincunx which means as Mercury turns direct it’s possible we might experience an amplification of the Mars Uranus tension. We will be required to make some adjustments – we are all learning about our limitations at this time, sometimes we need stark reminders to get us back into awareness of what we can give and what we can’t.

Mars will be adjoining asteroids Ceres, Vesta on 5-6th July and the north node in mid-July. With the asteroids, we have an opportunity to access a mature spiritual perspective on our journey. The questions raised here are: do we feel like the world sustains us? What are we devoted to – how does it serve us? We have abandoned the rhythms of the earth (Ceres) and are disconnected from all that is sacred (Vesta). These conjunctions suggests that embracingayin feminine wisdom will bring some answers. This wisdom and power arises from the acceptance that everything happens for a reason and that if we find ourselves submerged in darkness that we can’t get out of, then deeper into it we must go.

Ceres and Vesta represent a more enlightened path through connection with nature and our own bodies. When we abuse these connections, we often get stark reminders, sometimes through the wrath of nature herself. Metaphorically speaking, we must learn to love the weed as well as the rose, knowing that all of life’s manifestations are miraculous.

With Venus now in Gemini, we have a strong indicator of newness and changing consciousness. Collectively, we are in an uncomfortable position where the veils of illusion are being lifted; the dividing line between mine and yours is not so clear – is this my stuff or yours – do I take responsibility or should you. The answer is that its all of our responsibilities.

Reality is changing and we are being challenged to challenge what we attach to or identify with, what we believe and feed. Venus in Gemini precipitates changing perceptions, most likely experiencing an old relationship differently through fresh eyes, or conversely seeing a new relationship as something very ancient – that connects from our past. Strong intuitions and synchronicities can arise and some may feel life altering or just relieving. If we’ve been asking, then the wisdom and understanding we’ve been craving and praying for might arrive at this new moon, or at least another part of the puzzle.

For those of us who are here to move away from rigid patterns and stuck perceptions, this new moon will provide a quickening for that. Keep yourself open, Mercury is retrograde, stay you’re your indecision. It’s not yet the time to make decisions, no matter how urgent it feels. Stay now close with the most important relationship, that not everyone is ready to address, the relationship we have with ourselves. Venus in Gemini is good at this, so we have a few weeks of this.

Jupiter squares the Aries/Libra nodes. This means that the potentials and the possibilities of life itself, of people, that we are all different yet also the same, works to broaden our minds. Stay unfixed and stay soft, let things settle. There is no one true reality remember, which is the deeper message of Mercury and Gemini which Jupiter’s panoramic square to the nodes helps anchor.
