We have a New Moon in Pisces on Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 01:23 GMT.

The New Moon in Pisces marks the final New Moon before the Sun enters Aries and the astrological year begins.

So as March continues, there is a strong concentration of Pisces energy. Pisces draws us into the deeper layers of our experience—layers we often overlook, especially when life moves as quickly as it is now.

Several planets are also moving through Pisces at this lunation, including Sun, Moon, Mercury, Nodes, Mars, Vesta and Pallas Athena creating a strong emphasis in this sign. With this Pisces influence, we can expect this New Moon to naturally highlight themes of compassion, intuition, and deeper emotional understanding.

Another important development occurs just one day later, when Mercury stations direct. On the surface, this change of direction will bring some kind of communication or new information after a period of uncertainty or delay.

So with such a strong concentration of planets and points in Pisces at this time, they combine their influence and the same themes are activated from multiple directions at once, producing a kind of of saturation, especially when it’s Pisces. We might be feeling like there’s an atmosphere of more encompassing feeling, and it can be difficult to be outside of it, drawing us more deeply into what we are sensing and experiencing.

At the same time, this concentration creates a narrowing of focus, pulling us toward just one area of life. This can feel very immersive, as if everything is pointing back to the same underlying theme again and again. Because these themes then repeat and intensify, there is often a build-up over time. Emotional and intuitive material gathers, layer by layer, until it reaches a point where it has no choice but to transform. This build-up is not static, but part of a larger process.

So while New Moons always begin a new lunar cycle, as this one occurs at the very end of Pisces, at the 28th degree, the emotional waters also reach a natural culmination and completion. Hence that which we have overlooked or the depth within is culminating to a point or feeling where it can no longer continue in the same way.

From the two weeks leading up to this point, we have gathered feeling, memories, and reflections in a way that resembles a rising tide. Pisces belongs to water, the element connected with the movement of emotional experiences through the body. Aspects of our life, or the past, need more of our time, so we can hear the messages. Use your emotional awareness, spiritual reflection to help dissolve old patterns of lack, survival and scarity.

There is another dimension at this New Moon. Pisces is connected with the emotional currents that move through the body and the deeper layers of feeling we carry over time. Experiences of loss, sadness, and disappointment do not always pass through us completely when they occur. When they are not fully felt, they can remain stored within us and continue to influence how much energy we have available for life.

As the Sun moves into Aries shortly after this lunation, the quality of the zodiac shifts into fire. Fire seeks movement, initiative, and the courage to begin again. Yet fire does not burn well when water is holding it back. When older emotional material remains within us, especially grief that has never had space to be felt, it can dampen the spark that Aries brings. People often experience this as a sense of wanting to move forward but lacking the energy or clarity to do so.

The Pisces New Moon may therefore serve as a moment where those deeper feelings rise to the surface so they can be experienced more fully. Feeling grief or sadness is not simply an act of transmuting, recognising and acknowledging the past, as many believe. Even sacred fire is not enough unless it supports the water to be felt. It must be done through feeling it so we entirely occupy the body.

When emotion is felt in the body, it completes its cycle and releases. That means there are tears of release. Without the tears, there is no release. Grief and sadness cannot be processed through the air element, although many will try (but you start where you are).

Then, as that heaviness clears through your body more somatically, it makes space for the fire, momentum and motivation to follow. In this way, the closing of the zodiac in Pisces prepares the ground for the beginning that Aries represents. When the emotional waters have moved on and out, the fire of the new astrological year has far more room to take hold and carry you forward.

As that emotional weight clears, something else becomes possible—the need to hold back until everything feels clear or safe gives way to a different kind of trust—one that does not rely on certainty, rather on what is already known at a very deeper level within. This speaks to what the sovereign being movement points toward: a depth of being within the body itself, where knowing arises directly, rather than from anything external.

An eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon align with the Nodes, bringing something into view that changes the direction of matters. The Nodes always carry this function. As they are not physical bodies like planets, rather points of intersection where the path of the Moon crosses the path of the Sun, they mark points where different cycles meet.

For this reason, they are multidimensional in nature—they do not describe a single layer of experience but the meeting point of many at once—our soul’s personal story, collective patterns, ancestors (mother line), and the movement of time itself. They are very complex, and in multidimensional work they are more fundamental than the Sun and Moon.

At they mark the point where past and future meet, at this New Moon that meeting point becomes very active. What this means in practise is that the Nodes, which hold things that do not belong to this moment, start linking up with patterns that repeat across time, whether through family lines, cultural conditioning, or earlier phases of life. Either way it is material that continue to impact our current choices.

On this New Moon, where Mercury stations direct on the North Node, it brings this to our awareness and activates that intersection. Thinking, perception, and interpretation come into contact with a point of trajectory—hopefully creating a moment where understanding comes and new direction then follows.

Our sense might be of different strands, peripheral awareness, all connecting up. Certain unfathomable situations or experiences that you sensed were related, but perhaps it felt too crazy, now begin to form a coherent picture i.e. no you were not going mad! It’s like aspects of your past decisions, long held themes, destiny or purpose finally making more sense. And this recognition can now begin to influence your future choices and direction, in a very long-term trajectory, even though everything cannot yet be fully explained.

As you will see, with BML aspecting this pattern, makes trust a big part of this.

So this can feel very similar to an eclipse because firstly the nodes are involved, but also because something internal realigns and movement can begin again from that new orientation, shifting your direction in a big way. On the back foot of the eclipses, it’s likely that this new moon is acting as an extension of those eclipses.

This might feel somewhat subtle at first, but in all honesty has the capacity to alter the entire course of your life because it draws from something much deeper than the immediate moment. Wide reaching and very deep, stringing many lifetimes together. It’s the sort of thing like someone you meet is a combination of all your past lovers, yet they live in a different country, and you can suddenly see your destiny unfold in that distant country.

So it’s important to emphasise that this has been developing over many years, lifetimes even. Because this is all Pisces, the recognition may not arrive fully formed, but through feeling, subtle intuition or synchronicities, or through a sense that something has reached completion and no longer needs to continue in the same way.

Now this is where the multidimensional nature of the Nodes is important because the shift taking place is not limited to a single decision—it is or will involve the release of material that has been carried for a very long time. With the New Moon right at the end of Pisces, there is a natural closing point, where these necessary old patterns can complete their cycle.

Of course seeing your life orchestrated in such a profoundly intelligent way, woven through so many layers of your existence, can allow you to access deep levels of forgiveness and acceptance also. As you can see how everyone played their part of exquisitely.

Now, with Black Moon Lilith sitting in square to the Nodes we can add in another strong layer to this backdrop. BML is not a physical body, she is a calculated point, known as the lunar apogee. She marks the place where the Moon is furthest from the Earth.

Now if the Moon describes our needs, safety, and bonding, then this point describes distance from those conditions. It is where then the usual forms of safety are less available, and where our lives ask for a different kind of grounding. But into what you ask?

At this New Moon, with Mercury turning direct on the North Node, and Black Moon Lilith in square to that point of reorientation, we are introduced to where there’s a tension between the movement forward and the absence of support and safety structures. As our perception begins to open and a new sense of our direction emerges, BML highlights where there is no clear validation, security, known elements or guarantees, and certainly no external structure to trust in.

The result is not really confusion in itself, but a demand now for a different relationship to what we call certainty. In practical terms, this can show up in moments where a trajectory becomes clear, yet no reassurance follows, in the usual way. So our mind begins to move forward again, as minds do, but without any backing or back up.

The square from BML brings our attention to that tension filled gap. It marks a point where relying on analysis or external confirmation has now reached its limit, and something more is required from within us.

This is where the idea of trust becomes relevant, not as faith or belief, but as what arises in us when all other forms of safety fall away. We are being supported to take action without full understanding. And that we drop into more of our strength through our exposure to situations where there is no fallback on external validation or agreement.

Bringing things together here, the dynamic of the Pisces New Moon, which connects more broadly with an emphasis on emotional clearing, now comes together with the tendency to hold back until everything is certain begins to get some resolution. Life cannot continue to be lived life as though we need guarantees. We need to embrace life, and just let our body take us forward.

As this emotional letting go occurs, it becomes easier to see how holding on has created our hesitation. So what’s moving is not just feeling, but the pattern of waiting for certainty. Our trust in life is shifting ground. The connection between release and movement forward becomes clearer also.

As the Sun enters Aries and the new astrological year begins, two days after this lunation, we start to enter a very different territory. The fire of initiative, daring action and breaking free, especially of the past, can then take on a whole another dimension and urgency.

Its the ignition point, where and the Sun will hit Neptune then Saturn quite quickly. This is the first time since early 1700s that Saturn has met Neptune in Aries. When the Sun illuminates this conjunction, it highlights how vision (Neptune) and reality (Saturn) are no longer separate, but can begin to come together, and be acted upon. It will require both courage and a willingness, and without complete certainty. It’s learning as we go.

As then the other planets over the next month move into Aries, that accumulated energy deeply felt and experienced in Pisces, begins to find its expression through action. The concentrated saturation and depth gives way to forging ahead.

This is where what has been felt begins to translate into action, where our direction doesn’t emerge from certainty but from deeply below, deep within. What has completed in Pisces creates the conditions for Aries to take hold and carry life forward.
