We have a Full Moon partial eclipse on 16th July 2019 at 10.38 pm BST at 24 degrees of Capricorn. With no air element at this Full Moon, there’s an accent on intensity and feeling. This is a South Node partial eclipse, whereby the 2nd July was a North Node solar and total eclipse.
While this eclipse is only partial it doesn’t make it any less impactful, especially since this Full Moon is conjunct intense, powerful Pluto. The influence of eclipses last for months, up to 6 months after the eclipse time, and can be active up a month prior.
As a lunar full Moon eclipse, it is connected to endings. This is a time when pivotal decisions will to be taken, as we seek to align with new soul directions.
What we are not able to end organically or have no awareness of limiting us, might now be revealed, whether we are prepared and ready, or not. Letting go of the old makes us acutely aware of where we hold on, where we attach and want to maintain control of our lives.
The Cancer-Capricorn axis reflects a polarisation, within us and our world. It’s naturally a time when we feel pulled and pushed, when we see openings and have a clearer connection within the chaos.
Cancer is about honouring our connection to the cycles and rhythms of nature, that bind us to our bodies, feelings and the earth. Capricorn is our mission, our sense of purpose, our direction. The two are not independent of each other, but intimately intertwined in such a way that they can blend and have a reciprocal, rippling effect.
Being in touch with our feelings, our self-love and our connection to others, allows us to be in tune with the refined, subtle rhythms of life, gently guiding us towards outpouring our love, purpose and service to the world. Listening closely to the feedback from nature, the signals from the universe guides us forward. It’s not about waiting, as that implies we are resistant to what is, it’s about deep knowing, trust and surrender.
We cannot miss the ship, for there’s really no such thing, the more we can drop into trust and honouring what is, accepting the unfolding of life in every precious, sacred moment, the more we can relax and know we are loved and safe. That we will get entirely what we want from life, our deepest yearning will be fulfilled.
This Full Moon eclipse is conjunct Pluto. This brings in a strong, intense emotion. The Sun-Moon also additionally squares Eris, the Goddess of discord. This is a sense of being ostracised and wanting to wake people up to their superficial and deep attachments, where we cling in order to feel secure.
Eris, as a revolutionary, drives us to a higher plane of existence. In combination this is where we might meet outside authority in an uncomfortable way since we meet outside all our internal resistance to being in the seat of power within our own lives. Be prepared for power plays and ego agendas, your own and others.
Yet with Pallas Athena conjunct Eros, opposite Eris, we can connect to an incredible passionate, eroticism that sees the bigger picture, using the Pallas Athena wisdom and diplomacy to take careful, deliberate steps. She doesn’t react or rush in, this is about strategy and a deeper awareness of what’s happening. The Goddesses are supporting us to go deep into lunar consciousness, seeing through Moon eyes, where nothing is what it seems.
Venus is conjunct the North Node, which is our collective destiny and so with this it is clear that love is the path forward. It also encourages us to use our sensitivity and empathy, connecting with other living beings. We can connect to an instinctive understanding of our own and others’ innate human vulnerability, learning to open hearts and love deeper.
Venus trine Neptune amplifies our connection to compassion, empathy and love. Yet in between all that she’s making an opposition to Saturn which is not so easy, potentially cold and heavy, affecting relationships and especially those that are clinging on.
With Saturn, the taskmaster, on the South Node – this is karmically intense time, though that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The karma we receive can be subjectively positive or negative, depending on the extent we have given our lives over to Divine orchestration. Have we bequeathed our lives into the wise father elder? Are we taking responsibility for our creations, calling back our projections and holding to our power and Divine inner presence? Have we done what we know we should be doing?
In order to experience the sweet softness and love of Venus in Cancer on the North Node, to access it’s sensitivity and kindness, nurturing and nourishment, we need to go through our lessons and learn, through our relationship with others, what we need to commit to and take responsibility for for growth. It’s the power of harmlessness.
With Venus and Saturn on the nodal axis at this eclipse time, this is a time for finality, particularly in relationships, or whatever else Venus and Saturn rule in our charts. But a lot of positive change can come from finality and death. So this is also a time for rebirth, especially with Pluto and the January 2020 energies active.
It’s also worth noting that Eros and Psyche, the two soulmates, are making a harmonious trine this week, so perhaps while these are times for endings, perhaps it’s making room for something more passionate and erotic to enter – this won’t be for everyone, but some will certainly be experiencing some kind of soul merger with others. With Venus trine Neptune also active this mid-week, we can access even higher dimensions of unconditional love.
If we make the most of this eclipse portal, connecting to our Divinity within and raising our vibration, it’s possible to make great shifts in our consciousness, perhaps even permanent ones. Perhaps this eclipse is also the forerunner for the powerful Sun-Venus conjunction throughout August, which will birth new creative experiences in our lives.
Do not let this astrology go by, make the extra effort to raise your vibration and reap the rewards from your labour… even though it shouldn’t feel much like work, especially when we get into the heat of August…
