We have a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on 3 March 2026 at 11:38 GMT.

At this Full Moon Eclipse we have Eris, Chiron and Ceres all in conjunction in Aries—which is important and different from the much talked about Neptune and Saturn conjunction in Aries—adding more triggering layers of activation into this individualistic sign of the zodiac.

But first, we must not forget that for a lot of the month there’s still a lot of Pisces energy around. With Mercury retrograde, the Sun, Mars, and Venus in Pisces this is a lot of intuition. It feels, though, as if spring has sprung slightly early, with the surge of growth from nature’s awakening. So we have the movement and vital energy of Aries paired with the intuition of Pisces. Intuitions are making themselves known.

The full on activity in Aries is here for a long time—years—but it will be specifically triggered as the Sun and all the personal planets make their way into Aries in late March-April time. Aries is the ignition point of the zodiac. For this reason it does not process things slowly, or quietly. Instead, it asserts, reacts and declares its existence.

So when all these planetary bodies gather there—Ceres, Chiron, Eris, Saturn, Neptune, and soon the personal planets—the pressure will increase, and around self-definition itself. Saturn in Aries demands accountability for who we are becoming. Neptune in Aries dissolves false identities that were maintained through illusions, projections, and roles.

But the cluster of Eris-Chiron-Ceres highlights a specific evolutionary pressure that is very fundamental to our real-time lives.

Ceres brings the question of how we (and others) provide care for ourselves (and others) without forsaking or betraying the individual. This brings to the forth front our dependency and bindings with others and the ‘system’ itself (and all those deeply programmed in it). Chiron exposes our wounds around being ourselves, our selfhood, where we need to suppress our words, truth and feelings or where we have chosen invisibility because it’s safe. And Eris refuses any version of belonging that requires self-betrayal—forcing things out of suppression, the truth out of the depths of our connection.

This is intense stuff, and we are just at the beginning of this. The next two months are a force to be reckoned with. Ceres, Eris and Chiron are working intimately together to bring awareness, feeling and acknowledgement to all those invisible, painful places. Many are in a position where they are no longer able or willing to tolerate things they have tolerated for years—lack, imbalances, suppressed resentment or grievances, injustices. Under this eclipse activation and with these three planetary bodies gathered together, this now becomes urgent and very personal. It’s becomes a matter of pride, of authenticity, or of simply connecting to yourself rather than self-avoidance.

The thing to remember is, when we have had painful experiences at the hands of others, whether intentional or from a lack of awareness, it’s not easy to stand in ourselves again and reclaim ourselves from the empty void we get catapulted into. When people ostracise, label or take liberties over others, it is not so much a victim place that is left behind, but a place of fear. Fear of many things. But mainly of risking our humanity again, of being vulnerable to the vast dark forces that operate through people, and are intent, on destruction.

Once you have been through something like this, you are never the same again. You have faced the truth and, while perhaps you have survived and overcome something, you are not left whole and complete. While the truth sets us free, it also casts us out on our own, it can be a lonely place, or a place of grief, or that we can no longer reside in our innocent naivety or can belong in a world so emneshed in distortion of truth. We can also struggle to connect with ourselves and others, as in that connection we face the difficulty of the truth, and a part of us just wants to go back to being normal again.

As we will see throughout this year and next, with the strong focus on Leo also, we will all now be urged to meet our inner sovereign truth, no matter how humanising, vulnerable-making, painful or freeing it is. This is not for the rare now, more will be facing inner conflict and dilemmas, that challenge growth in courage and sense of self.

When all this activation gathers around the I-am, individuals feel pushed to separate from old structures and systems that diminish the truth of the individual. There are times when we need to see them for what they are; unsustainable, life denying or betraying of the vulnerable. Of course this is not just what they are, but the gap is widening and the limitation of systems and formulaes, which erode the individual’s experience, will become increasingly apparent. This can be a destabilising time because our family, communities, roles, culture and history are slowly becoming less a part of who we fundamentally are. Many feel they are without choice, binded into situations and circumstances that are life sucking.

Yet this concentration of Aries energy also marks a profound evolutionary pivot point for us—as we are being urged and ushered into standing on our own axis now. Knowing our own orientation. Some (astrologers) are interpreting this simply as rebellion and protesting. But a more coherent way of looking at it is that our sovereign centre or core is leading us through an intense process of coming back to self.

So why do we need this now? That’s a mammoth question in itself. But perhaps one way of looking at it is through us nearing the end of the Cross of Planning (the Human Design cycle 412 years long). This ends in 2027, so we are now rapidly gearing up for it. The last 412 years have been about tribal infrastructure—contracts, agreements, marriage, family, roles, mutual support, and long-term security. It stabilised society through shared contracts—“you provide this, I provide that, and we survive together.”

This sense of overextention of the caregiver or provider can be witnessed everywhere. It is the sacrifice. It is how the system steps in and takes over (with apparent good intention) but ends up creating more harm than good. It is the mother who has never relinquished the role. The father that is never seen. Life has been strangled. This is no longer about safety, stability or support; it is the path of death.

Over time the system normalises and homeogises individuals to the extent that taking a different path is seen as taboo, as forbidden. If you take the non-mainstream approach, you are open to ridicule and ostracistration; take the mainstream approach and you can be controlled and made ‘wrong’ for who you are.

Under the Cross of Planning, we belonged because we fulfilled our part in the structure—as provider, parent, worker, citizen, partner. This built nations, institutions, and family systems. But, it also required the individual to subordinate parts of themselves in order to keep the tribe intact.

It wasn’t only about mutual support; the same tribal contracts that stabilised community also consolidated hierarchies, allowing certain families, individuals and institutions to entrench their power. In these hierarchies, belonging and security became fused with compliance—since people’s access to resources depended on staying within the prescribed roles and agreements of the system, suppressing their individuality to be accepted.

As we approach the end of that 412-year cycle, the strain of living in this way becomes tangibly felt in our own lives.

Those roles that in the past ensured survival (that is the precise word if we trace it right down to it’s roots) are no longer sufficient for the next stage of our individual and collective evolution. This is why the ignition in Aries is important now, because the activation we are experiencing is part of that disentangling process—a necessary confrontation between who we have been required to be and who we actually are now.

A huge part of that overextension is now more exposed, it is rawer—this is Chiron. The part of us that has felt what it’s like to be subordinate, nonexistent or invisible. Reduced to roles or usefulness, to never being appreciated or understood. Long periods of sacrifice or self-denial can be used to justify payback. The wound can easily become the identity. Individuals and groups often organise around wounds, so that the injury defines them. Ideally, our self-definition should not depend on our identity with a wound, or an identity at all.

Ceres brings the sustaining principle into sharp focus—who feeds, who provides, who protects, who is protected. These roles determine worth within relationships and systems. When caregiving becomes merged with other themes, it holds emotional baggage, and over time this pulls us increasingly into old, rigid patterns.

We are at a tipping point where if we prolong the imbalance, it now feels intolerable. Care that emerges from a place within the individual and within relationships, that screams responsibility, or duty and feeling trapped, or a process of endurance, or maintaining harmony—all of this now will not be supported energetically. As the concentration builds, we have to break free.

Eris represents the suppressed fight, the protest inside this structure. Where we have absorbed, accommodated, or silenced ourselves in order to keep things going. Eris says no longer, she is uncompromising, and in the process (as the sister of Mars) exposes her accumulated resentment stuffed deep beneath the maintenance of stability and safety.

Questions around responsibility, sacrifice, and fairness intensify within us and in our relationships, exposing underlying tensions. We cannot keep absorbing for the sake of keeping the peace.

And so our survival story might strengthen—as we face the bitterness, the anger, the need to defend or fight for ourselves. Resources often sit beneath all arguments—whether that’s time, money, or energy. We believe that control over sustenance influences our safety. What is clear as day is that our truth in a larger force taking care of us is not readily accepted in this environment. We deeply fear loss and vulnerability.

So our invisible work now becomes visible, first to the one who has been carrying it, through a lack of reciprocity, or a sense of emptiness. But most will continue in their obliviousness. The changing message is clear; “I have been necessary” shifts into “I have disappeared”. The deeper arising question coming up and into view is: can I continue? How do I continue? How do I find myself again?

This Virgo Lunar Eclipse brings discernment into this activation. Rather than amplifying our reaction, it lends us some capacity to assess circumstances, to make clear choices and to see what’s important right now. There might be some humility required. Some self-honesty and compassion also.

The opening territory is examined by Virgo, tested for integrity and practicality. What begins as “I matter” shifts to “how does this need to change in my daily life?”. The movement is from Aries ignition to Virgo refinement, from reaction to restructuring. In that transition lies the possibility for both personal and collective recalibration.
