This New Moon occurs in Taurus on 26th April at 1.16 am GMT. While this Moon is unaspected, which means it doesn’t have a relationship with any other planets, there is still an awful lot going on.

Perhaps you are feeling this now, that there’s just too much, and you just don’t know how to capture yourself and to know what really needs your attention.

Lets begin by setting the intention at this New Moon to bring ourselves back to ourselves. Take a moment now, just to internally connect and say either out loud or in your head, “I fully bring myself back into my body”.

This coming back to the physical, is Taurus. Taurus is simple, practical and real. It’s about making it make sense, giving things substance. Taurus asks for simple, clear steps.

Making this moment for yourself, sets a powerful intention to ground into your centre. Now take a moment to notice the beauty around you. Look for it and you will see it. Our world is full of drama and rage, and amidst all this stress, its important that we cultivate some balance, centre and generate some peace to cope with these very difficult energies.

To give a little more background, Mercury stations direct on 3rd, as it forms a conjunction with Uranus and Eris. When planets station in order to change direction (either retrograde or direct), they carry a lot of intensity, more weight and energy. They sense they sometimes give us is that we need to be somewhere we aren’t. This sense is corroborated by many other planetary aspects at this time.

Mercury holds this position with Uranus and Eris until 3rd May. With Eris, it’s chaos and discord. With Uranus, it’s the unexpected and unintended, freedom and originality. This is a strong signature that will be hard to ignore or avoid. My hope in writing this more in-depth post is that you will have a sense of how to integrate and pull back some of this energy for yourself so you have what you need by 3rd May.

With Uranus, we have a potential portal into some pretty sublime creativity and innovation, but it is tinged with chaos, so we might need to wrestle with in order to make this planetary energy our ally. Make time for yourself to be by yourself this weekend, Uranus, especially, says “I will connect you to the coolest increased rate of synchronicity, even miracles if you take time out with me”.

I think under this astrological weather, our clear intentions are even more required. We need to proclaim our availability for playing with the Gods and Goddess, and have some willingness to experiment with moving out of our emotional default setting.

Uranus is about synchronicity, equality, and democracy but as we all know, to react to anything (as opposed to responding) is to carry around a portable prison. This is the danger here, this weekend, and into next week. We are liable to go to extremes. To either feel like shutting down or reacting out of hast. This is not the time for either of these things. It’s the time to cultivate a larger repertoire of responses by going internally, which we do through allying ourselves with our Divine nature, which is also our freedom, essentially.

When we go internally over the next few days, we can ask ourselves, what’s the connection here, what’s really happening? We don’t need to get an immediate answer and we might not even get an answer that makes sense. But just the process of asking will engender the divinity which you are to reorganise events to reflect something that actually does makes sense and have meaning. This is just like a quiet invocation to your own inner God or Goddess to take charge.

Don’t get me wrong, this is most likely going to be a time for mental chaos, and for uncertainty, whether we are paying attention to ourselves or not. We respond to this though by deepening our inner connection, by doing and saying less, by taking a back seat, by being interested in people’s perspectives rather than resisting or fighting them. It’s a time for observation also. Take up space internally.

With Uranus and Mercury (particularly retrograde), we might also get presented with the unexpected, to wake us up out of our dream state. Perhaps this is what we need also, but do still take the time for yourself. Retrograde planets speed us up, and when we act in hast, we sometimes screw up. Stay connected to yourself to harness this powerful time for ingenuity and miracles, so it is not lost or wasted.

Venus stationed direct on 15th April and is still travelling very slowly in a challenging square aspect to Saturn. With Venus in the final degrees of Pisces, we are still in the seeding phase of the zodiac.

There’s a lot of doubt, uncertainty, not having what we think we deserve, need or want in the air. Notice when you have the tendency to create a need for external validation or certainty and get interested, rather than seek it out further. Trust that there is a beautiful reorganisation happening behind the scenes. Calling in your presence, rather than abandon yourself, in those crucial moments and throughout this time of reorganisation. Seek a deeper understanding of the symbols, messages and feedback you receive back from the universe.

Saturn squaring Venus makes us feel like we need answers, a sense of urgency, that dogged perseverance is necessary. Yet nothing can fulfill, finalise or resolve itself against a backdrop of this energy.

We might easily get pulled into believing that what we need or want, or denied us will come if we worked just that bit harder or get clearer. But nothing is fixed now.

This Taurus New Moon is teaching us how to surrender to what is, to accept and be patient with the course of our lives. We are learning how to find the right rhythm with Taurus, how to move into action that counts, rather than action instigated from fear or outside sources.

When Venus shortly moves into Aries on 28th, we might prematurely feel like we can move forward but Venus struggles to find her rhythm in Aries, and so its still an uncertain space until May when Mercury is also direct.

It doesn’t feel easy, and it might feel all so complex. Trying to make decisions from this place will send us into more self-doubt. We are being challenged to reconnect our decisions and action to our dreams, vision and strategy (while Venus is in Pisces). So feeling in, checking in, coming back to centre is supporting us to move forward.

But more than any other planet, Saturn needs redefining. Saturn has been called the dweller on the threshold. He points to the difficult initiatory experiences we all go through (the blocks) that in and of themselves challenge us to move beyond subservience to perceived limitation. He is not about depression and fear, but he brings it when we do not honour him correctly.

What Saturn really represents is our own internal authority which arises from our inner centre. If we reside in fear, or struggle with depression, then our Saturn has been displaced. Venus square Saturn brings many perceived limitations. We can learn to inhale our own authority and not give it away – to fathers, mothers, lovers, needs, poverty consciousness, emotions, desires, addictions…

Saturn wants us to build up a spiritual muscle tone so we can rewrite our belief systems and change our reality, but actually, from within. Saturn says the truth of what we are or have in our lives arises from what we focus our energy on.

This is a strong calling to come back to our spirit. For our lives reflect our dreams and visions, we are required to take stock and pause, take a moment for reflection. We might be feeling like we are having a very hard work out in a spiritual gymnasium, and we have a lot of resistance to going to that gym right now.

I think I’m labouring this point for myself now, but to reiterate, if we don’t willingly follow our inner authority, Saturn will reach up and pull us down, and when you are falling, he says, dive. Go all the way to the bottom until you meet a deep part of yourself and then you can come back to the top.

He reminds us to not live life on autopilot, to not forsake our Divine Presence within, to not to go along with other people’s life definitions of what is achievement, what is valuable, meaningful, useful or important. Ask yourself, who are you? What are you making life mean for you (what are you valuing)? And who or what is making that meaning up for you?

Saturn is about reality, he sets rules, and when we accurately observe reality and nature, and then engage with it, we can begin to decide our own rules. Uranus can help us break some rules right now, break free – it might just need to be the way it is, with all the craziness, breaking free of our old self sometimes requires a leap over the abyss. This is the time to also jump, if that feels more like you right now.

We are all here to find our natural rhythm and follow it. Part of that journey requires travelling along paths that do not reflect our personal rhythm, only then can we become more aware of it and follow it.

For me, this is the mystery of the Divine Feminine, the path of the Moon, the path of using the whole energy spectrum, of sometimes being in the dark, of uncertainty, of making mistakes, but being ok with them, owning them, making meaning from them.

And this brings me to Venus conjunct Chiron. It’s opening us to the perfection within in the imperfection, to our total vulnerability but the deep strength that belies within it, to our humility and our willingness to dance with all our imperfection.

At the moment, everything about the way we relate is in a mode of protection. There’s a strong sense of being inadequate, of not feeling safe, or protected enough to, or even capable enough to open up. The question is, are we able to be vulnerable, can we take that risk?

There’s a whole spectrum of energy out there for you to choose from! Whether you fall or dive, it will be what you need for now. If we can take a risk and allow our vulnerability forth we might go into an octave deeper. We might remember that our presence within orchestrates a most majestic symphony for us.

It might not be perfection from our ego’s perspective, but it does hold beauty which words escape, and it’s a beauty that the Taurus New Moon is yearning for us to notice and appreciate. But to bring back that simplicity, start by take up the space, get away from your phone and laptop, and get back to nature and find your way home.
