We have a Virgo New Moon on 20th September at 18.29 GMT at 29 degrees & the equinox is just around the corner. It’s time to begin sorting the wheat from the chaff. The Virgo phase represents a critical moment in the alchemical year, when the crop must be cut down in its prime, harvested and its essence extracted.

In the human life cycle, Virgo represents the rite of passage, a time of initiation rites. It’s not an easy sign. It’s a time when our inner critic can gather in strength and we become self-flagellating. It’s the point in the creative cycle when we are shaping & honing our creations & sometimes go too far throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

We experience Virgo whenever we are examined, judged, cut down to size, just as wheat is separated from the chaff. This is the time where our ideas are shaped into practical, useful, sustainable projects that serve the greater good.

So this is not a time for indulgences, but one to get to task. Like the wheat being turned into the food that feeds us, we are transforming creative impulses into something that serves the community.

We had a lot of energy in Leo, now we have a stack load in Virgo, with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars & the New Moon. That’s a lot of Virgo discrimination. We now have the ability to have boundaries & say no. This time can help us prioritise & get things done, since we can filter & sift through our list of things to do.

There’s an even stronger push to get things done with Pluto in earthy Capricorn about to turn direct at the month’s end. Many other planets are also in direct motion supporting action & momentum. We can really take advantage of this time to materialise our ideas & inspirations into the Saturn world of matter.

With a lot of Virgo energy, there’s a strong critical, picnicking, pulling things a part tendency. While great for tasks, it’s not great for relationships. We are more critical & naggy than usual. Taking a closer look at the energetic dynamics of this month’s remainder, we see that with Mars-Mercury also in Virgo, the stress building up can easily be projected or taken out on others.

With Neptune strongly figuring for the length of September, & particularly at the nearing the end, making decisions & getting answers might not be straight-forward. We might also be tended to avoid reality & sleep or drink through it. The helplessness, powerlessness & hopelessness can be overwhelming at times. But we are so much more powerful than what we are led to believe.

Rather than overwhelm, channel Neptune into your creative projects, since then the tasks can be completed from a higher octave, rather than the traditional ‘doing’ approach of Virgo. Let yourself go a little dreamy & then see if it flows. Collectively we are stepping away from mindless action & into mindful doing, emanating from our centre.

Another manifestation of Neptune is solitude: it’s a time to get unplugged from the world and relationships with others as much as possible. While this may appear to be avoidance that isn’t the case – there’s usually something active may be going on within the passivity.

Our fierceness can be born out of time spent in creative solitude. Or when in spiritual retreats, in meditation, we come out with a clearer mind and a better defined sense of self, which in turn allows us to be empowered in the world. It can also be a time when we can focus so intensely on something that we can become masters in it. Sometimes solitude is just what you need to strengthen yourself. Time spent alone can be a very intense and exhilarating, if you know how to remain engaged.

Yet if we insist on Virgo perfection, we will curtail or kill our creative projects. The creative, intuitive flow is available to us, but only if we put our internal critic to the side, or give it a useful job to get on with. Clean the house first, satisfy your critic, then get on with your creative projects.

Virgo energy can be a stressful energy to manage & process. As the sign of elimination & ruling the gut, we might experience gut issues, digestion problems or upset stomachs. We are more vulnerable to food poisoning & certainly with Neptune in Pisces opposing all this Virgo planetary energy, we may be more susceptible to absorbing toxins or pollutants. If there ever was a time to detox, fast, diet, purify, now is it.

Uranus is opposite Jupiter now & exact on 27th, but as both planets move slowly, this aspect will extend into October. Both planets are at the end of their current sign, Uranus is retrograde & moving into completion phase through Aries (moving into Taurus in May).

Jupiter in Libra is soon to move into Scorpio, with will bring a huge focus on transformation & deep purification. Uranus is putting pressure on the Jupiterian emphasis on relationships, & Jupiter is expanding Uranus’ potential for consciousness shifts. We can grow & shift our perspective through our relationships, through one another.

Together, Uranus & Jupiter might be bringing changes to our relationships. With Jupiter in Libra, there’s been expansion to relationships, but with Uranus opposite, these relationships haven’t felt predictable, particularly stable or long term. Where is the stable support from others when you need it? It hasn’t always been easy to come by despite there being lots of goodwill.

Uranus opposite Jupiter is a destabilising aspect and alongside Saturn-Lilith, is helping us break free from limitations & constrictions that are now no longer acceptable. We are tired of the same old & growing increasingly uncomfortable with old, destructive patterns & eager for new fresh harmony inducing approaches to living. This aspect can finally help us turn the corner & support us to make decisions based on our physical health.
