This month we have a Full Moon in Leo on 3rd February 2015 at 11.08 pm, it could herald a good night out, with a nice dose of Leo full moon drama. Leos are famous for their drama antics, they love being the centre of attention, strutting their stuff and fluttering their feathers. This one however is a little calmer than most, certainly less intense when compared to the new moon earlier this month. This full moon is at 14 degrees Leo, with the Sun opposite as always at full moons, this time in eccentric Aquarius. This half way degree mark (there are 30 degrees in a sign) tells us we are midpoint between the winter solstice and spring equinox – we are half way through winter.

There are many planets engaging at this full moon, and although more planets than usual, the aspects are less tight, a bit looser, which takes away the intensity. We have a stellium of Pisces energy at this full moon with Venus, Mars, Neptune, Chiron in close quarters square to Saturn, and this full moon is in various aspects to Mars, Pallas Athena, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto. Most noticeably, this moon makes a joyous, exuberant conjunction to retrograde Jupiter in Leo, so this might raise our spirits and help us keep the faith. Pluto also makes an uncomfortable, minor, quincunx aspect to the Moon which brings in a deep feeling aspect, and perhaps issues with your ancestral mother side – it’s a good full moon to investigate and explore those relationships.

The full moon’s Leo conjunction to Jupiter highlights Leo’s ruler, the Sun, which represents our sense of self and connection to our life force, our higher self. The Moon brings out our need to belong and be accepted at the deepest level while Jupiter is our experience of purpose, meaning and wisdom. There’s potential here for a deepening of relationship to our higher self and perhaps we might get clearer on how ultimately we need that relationship. Living without a relationship to our higher self is life draining and ultimately unsatisfying. Our higher self nourishes our souls and feeds our ability to feel joy and happiness. She also connects us to our sense of purpose and meaning, placing the experience in our lives into context and weaving us into the universal fabric of life and oneness.

We might have a fair amount of self-doubt rise up in us now, and with Mercury retrograde, there’s a lot that feels undecided and unsure. Its not a time to make lasting decisions, despite our constant pull to definitive direction and answers. When we are forced into suspension, neither here nor there, it’s very hard to feel solid, safe and certain of our choices. Yet periods of self-doubt exist to so we can reassess and then recommit to our journey. They are reflection times and an opportunity to see distil the wheat from the chaff. Self-doubt is a healthy thing, as long as it doesn’t take over us and we stay connected to our faith.

Retrograde Jupiter suggests we need to be less on a crusade at the moment, less searching for outward meaning and purpose in our lives and more in communication with our beingness. It’s a perfect time, with this Stellium in Pisces lending it’s spiritual dimension, and Mercury retrograde, to do innerwork. An external push and focus will work less well for us as the deeper, inner truth awareness of our life path, a place of pause and neutral, where the infinite wisdom of the divine can awaken within.

It’s perhaps more difficult to connect with how we really feel, what we really mean, especially if we are in a very external place. Confusion and not being able to catch our reality rules in the heavens now and the outcome of this is inevitably frustration or anxiety. We are in the middle of a meld of energies, all which take us neither here or there. It’s difficult for those of us who like certainty and clarity, and all the quincunxs and semi-sextiles in this full moon chart open us to a lot of frustration and perhaps even a sense that where we want to go or be is so far off. It’s easy to lose heart, get critical (internally or externally), but we must stay connected to our faith in the longer term healing process, as sometimes this is all we have left.

This is also a time, with this stellium in Pisces, to watch our addictive tendencies and the ways in which we deceive ourselves. Perhaps we will deceive ourselves that we know best, the truth especially with this Moon Jupiter Leo influence. If we can stay connected, curious and centred in the midst of these complex energies then we will be well serving ourselves since self-avoidance and burying our heads in the sand rarely solves anything. Also whatever we are denying in ourselves right now might culminate at this full moon.

It’s a good time to connect into all that ultra subtle sensitive Pisces energy within ourselves and work with the subtle energies. We are now able to pick up how we feel and what we sense through our bodies and energy field. But we need to be careful to not get carried away with the potential delusional imaginings of our perceptions.

This subtle Chiron in Pisces wound, that continues in the backdrop, reminds us that being disconnected from Source (God and Goddess) is the source of our wound and dissatisfaction with life. At the same time we have a tendency to dissolve into our fears and worries rather than trust our faith in Source. Fears, anxiety, self-pity and worry might be felt more intensely around this full moon so its good to use some Virgo discretion and pay attention to your thought patterns and the reality you buying into. The Jupiter influence at this full moon might even strengthen this tendency as we are sorting between what’s real and what’s not real for us. Can we ever really entirely trust our perceptions? How do we know when we find that place of trust? For some it’s going to be a time when we see others as being able to give us the answers rather than us trusting in ourselves – we might project the power outside of us, which means we end up feeling lost and disconnected from ourselves. It’s never a bad idea to get second opinion. But if our ability to trust our own truth is something we struggle with, then this might be the time when we are pushed to rise up and find out about how we isolate our own truth within.
