This Full Moon is ripe in Scorpio at 10.24 pm on 10th May 2017, 21 degrees Scorpio. This Full Moon makes a powerful aspect to Pluto, while in the background we have a Saturn trine Jupiter. There is also a muddy Mars square Neptune with Black Moon Lilith in on the act.
The month of May is a little quieter on the astrological front, which is good since we have had a lot going on in the previous months. All this retrograde energy and the challenges to Venus have been putting a lot of pressure on our expectations, assumptions and our entire perception of reality. We are being increasingly woken up in deeper layers of ourselves.
What we thought we had ‘sorted’ or ‘healed’ is now looking like a deep chasm of not knowing. We are being shown that who we are, or who we think we are cannot be easily limited, defined or clarified. It’s all about the witnessing and feeling. The feeling is strong now, and we are able to grieve and perhaps let go of where we were so certain.
Life likes to surprise us, it doesn’t want us to quickly get complacent and think we have worked it all out. The moment we begin to think ‘success’, we are being shown there is so much we do not know. This is part of the process and it’s only avoidable by being closer to and more in contact with your inner self.
We are in a energy changeover period, as though we are changing hands in a relay race, moving from a very internal energy, that forces us to question and second guess our knowing, into something that is now beginning to take us more outward and external.
When the energies are in a process of changeover, we are more vulnerable to confusion, especially with a Mars square Neptune in the mix. It’s like we’ve just acclimatised to a challenging frequency, finally, and now we need to change gears again. This is the point where the gear stick can get stuck. The process here requires from us a degree of patience and distance.
One way to work with this is to not be in a rush. On sensing the different quality of energy, we might prematurely rush to make good use of it. But it’s better to take it slow, even if you have urgent matters to deal with, let things orientate around you, rather than the other way around.
At this Full Moon we have a Sun trine Pluto and of course the Taurus-Scorpio axis is a relationship axis, that embraces intimacy, relating and getting closer physically, sexually and emotionally.
The next few days give us opportunities to get closer to people, to feel others, to begin to warm up after the recent challenging Venus retrograde and square to Saturn energy. In recent months, the astrological landscape hasn’t been very conducive to forming alliances, connections, getting intimate, sharing love, or opening up. It just hasn’t been on the table.
Now we have an opening to refreshing our relationships. If you need to get a relationship back on track, the moment is now to take some time out to talk honestly about what you need and what you feel around this Full Moon. At the same time we need to really focus on listening and letting the other go deeper. Scorpio energy will aid us in diving deep, and merging with another if we pay attention to this part of our process. With the trine to Pluto at this Full Moon, this should make it even more transformative for your relationships.
Cornerstone to our relationships with others is our relationship with ourselves. The Lunar Nodes are changing signs around this Full Moon from Virgo to Leo, this supports us to develop a healthier relationship to ourselves and most importantly increase the love we have for ourselves. After the recent Venus-Saturn challenges, we might be yearning a deeper connection to the love we have for ourselves deep within. If there is, and there usually is, some space for improvement in that sense, the best way to embrace the connection with our inner love is to examine our inner blocks; inner obstacles to experiencing love towards ourselves. These usually come in the form of negative beliefs about ourselves, such as, a sense of unworthiness, or conversely, a sense of superiority. Admitting that these blocks exist and replacing them with more positive attitudes will allow us to connect with our inner love.
The cosmos now is urging us to step into our authenticity and be/do what reflects us truly and deeply – what is uniquely us. It is easy to follow the social convention even in the field of spirituality. I see it everyday. People follow spiritual paths because it is popular among friends, or because it gives them a sense of social validation. People are just joining band-wagons, seriously lacking any real creativity and authenticity. Now is the time to work on expression of your true self, what is uniquely ours, beyond convention.
Leo urges us to stand up and be counted for who we are, what we believe and what we want to share with the world as our own personal soul purpose. It is time for us to take some time over the next 18 months to work this out. With Mercury still in the illumination of Uranus at the time of this nodal changeover, it is the energetic signature blueprint for this new nodal pattern. We are all being urged on our own path of awakening our unique gifts and divine blueprint. This is not an easy journey, but it’s a necessary one to experience true joy and happiness in our lives.
On top of this, what is particularly active now is Saturn trine to Uranus – a longer-term supportive aspect, which brings a stabilisation of all the change. The Planets offer us the right energies to ground our fine intuitions in the real world.
In essence, so much and so many aspects are receiving illumination – but it is an illumination that needs to be grounded. We are still feeling our way into all the new information and what we are going to do with it. We are asking all the right questions, for sure, but we must not expect the answers too soon. It takes time to really know, and feel more certain. For many also, the journey is in releasing their certainty, as that in and of itself ties them up in chains. This is the time to know and to feel when the truth comes to us. At the same time, if we struggle with seeing it, we need to focus on accepting this state of affairs. The ability to mindfully tolerate our uncertainty and accepting periods of doubt is a very important skill on our path to finding and illuminating our true selves.
For those seriously committed to their spiritual path, there is often a sense of urgency or quickening. In order to stay sane and well connected to yourself amidst all the information and all the possibilities, we need to be prepared to give ourselves some healthy reminders. We need to be prepared to bring ourselves back to our spiritual senses –to what really counts and what really matters for our souls.
So, the real deal at this time though is about slowing down, integrating, consolidating, and grounding. It is about allowing the energy to guide you, rather than you trying to guide the energy. When we try and direct our lives too much, we butt our heads against walls and our internal aspects reek havoc.
Slow down, take each step one at a time and know that everything happens in it’s own good time. It’s as simple as that. There’s nothing that you have to be, to do, or to have. Now, it is about coming back to our Centre and being present in this very moment.
